Yes, the book took longer than we anticipated. Thanks again to everyone who has ordered a copy!

I wish Record Research did books on these: The Shadoe Stevens American Top 40 years (using December 1991-December 1992 Billboard Top 40 Radio Monitor chart source and January 1993-January 1995 Billboard Top 40 Mainstream chart sources). The American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest years (starting with January 2004 and using 20 years of AT40 with Ryan Seacrest charts).

What I'd love to see maybe someday is Cashbox R&B and Country - I know that the charts are on-line (currently). I have the Scarecrow Press anthologies that Albert and Hoffmann did back in the 1980s and they're a long way from the Record Research standard. Canadian Charts - This would be my idea of an ideal Record Research book in that there are a lot of familiar favorites with a lot of fascinating, if unfamiliar, Canadian Content to discover CMJ, FMQB, or The Hard Report - Much deeper coverage of rock tracks than Billboard did

I would LOVE to have a book of the weekly Top 100 country singles. Didn’t know about the Albert and Hoffman book. I’ll be finding one of those to buy, but would love Whitburn to do one.

Top 100?... or is it just a compilation book with info for each artist and each song. Just wondering...

The Albert/Hoffman book is The Cashbox Country Singles Charts 1958-1982, ISBN 0-8108-1685-7 I ordered the whole set of books new from Barnes & Noble back in the 1990s. The books for the Album Chart, Black Contemporary Singles, Black Contemporary Albums, Country Albums, and Charts for the Post Modern Age. The latter compiles CDs, Midline LPs, Music Videocassettes, Music Videos, Rap LPs/Singles, 12" singles, video games, and video cassettes. They all arrived without dust jackets, but I believe they originally came with them.
All follow the same format, which is totally different than Record Research.
Songs are listed in alphabetical order by artist, with debut date, label and catalog number, week by week positions, and total weeks charted. A sample listing is as follows:
JONES, GEORGE 4-12-80 He Stopped Loving Her Today (Epic 50867) 67, 55, 40, 33, 29, 19, 11, 9, 6, 4, 2, 1, 1, 4, 14, 34, 56 (17)

Thank you so much for the info... that's an interesting format. I may purchase the Country book. I'd still love to find all of the Top 100 Country Singles charts... without having to download each week of them. Either a book, or some kind of digital file that has all weeks of a particular year... like what is available at worldradiohistory.com with the Billboard charts. Maybe one day...

Here's a picture that illustrates the biggest deficiencies. Still, as of now it's the only anthology of Cashbox's country charts in book form. - The alphabetical listing of song titles has an artist's career all over the place.
- Duets get listed separately, further muddying the waters
- The week by week placements only really make sense if you're looking at a calendar for that particular year or if they were consciously trying to make it look different than Record Research, whom I believe had already compiled Billboard's Country charts by 1982.

Yeah, that’s definitely different. Thanks for the pic. I’ve got the Whitburn Top 40 Country Music Charts book. Just want all the weekly country charts in a book like they have for the Hot 100 charts.

We will probably never publish the weekly Country charts from Billboard. We tried an Album charts book covering 1965-69 and it didn't sell very many copies. We must publish books that sell in order to stay in business. We are planning an update to our main Country Singles book (alphabetical by artist) sometime in 2024.

My desire for those charts is probably a rare thing. I appreciate all the info that your books provide.
