Now that the updated Country book has been completed and shipped out, I hope their next book is "Record World Singles Charts 1973-1982".

I would have bought the new country book, but most of what has made the country chart in the last six years has been subpar--namely the bro-country and the increasingly pop-sounding tunes marketed as country by the suits in Nashville.

If Whitburn does an update of the adult songs book, I hope he considers using Radio & Records for July 1993-March 1996 because Billboard didn't have an AC chart per se during the mid-'90s. A lot of songs that made "Countdown America" did not make Billboard's AC chart because it was a combination AC/Hot AC chart for nearly three years beginning on July 17, 1993.

However, it sure is Nashville's fault. What fun is following the progress of songs if you don't like them? That was one reason why I never bought the 2000s pop chart book because I didn't like about 70 percent of the songs that charted in that decade.

I see the newest book at Record Research is one that I had hoped they would do: Radio & Records Top Pop Hits 1973 - 2009

It is good to see Record Research come out with a book that the chart fans really wanted. I predict that this will sell out pretty quickly.

I received the R & R book earlier this week. One significant difference that I didn't know before between Billboard and R & R is that in R & R "Waiting for a Girl Like You" by Foreigner was #1 for 6 weeks and "Physical" by Olivia Newton-John peaked at #2 for 2 weeks. Deal with it, Olivia.
