Dave went twelve days ahead of today's date and featured the Top 40 of 11-21-64. Next week is: 1966. #1 for likely date of either 11-19-66 or 11-26-66 is "You Keep Me Hangin' On by the Supremes. Maybe 1963 after that? Hey by then it will be almost 6 months! Problem with rotation, Dave?

I also hope 1963 will be featured before 2024 is over-We're up to November-There were two songs that reached # 1 that month:"Deep Purple" with Nino Tempo & April Stevens & "I'm Leaving It Up To You" by Dale & Grace-Here's a fun fact:Both of those songs were later covered by Donny & Marie Osmond.

How about all the songs that were #1 since the last airing of 1963 on 6-1-24--Surfin USA, Fingertips, My Boyfriend's Back, Blue Velvet wouldn't be heard, even if 1963 is played on 11-23-24. I am sure 1963 will be heard, but I still don't know why is was overlooked. 1960, 1961 and 1962 were played since 6-1-24, so it's not due to early 60's being shelved in favor of later 1960's.

Jeff, you might've been thinking of "Surf City" by Jan & Dean-That went to # 1 in the summer of 1963-If I remember correctly,"Surfin' USA" was a top five hit for The Beach Boys the same year.

Yes, I meant "Surf City." Thanks so much! I always get those two confused.

Next weekend will feature a special focusing on Thanksgiving hits. (Dave erroneously said 1966 at the end of this week's show from that year.)

I couldn't believe he said the year he had just played, and I am looking forward to the Thanksgiving Special. He did one last year at Thanksgiving, but this should be different criteria.

Why was "Go Away Little Girl" by the Happenings a Staff Pick on yesterday's show. It was felt that the song should have been in the Top 40. The song peaked at #12 10-29-66 and 11-5-66. I found it a bit strange to hear a former song as a Staff Pick. Anyone else feel that was odd?

Hopefully,1963 will be featured on the weekend of 11/30 & 12/1-The featured chart would likely be from 12/7-# 1 song was "Dominique" by The Singing Nun.

It would make roughly 6 months (6-1-24) since 1963 was last played--way overdue, huh?

At least there should be some 1963 music from the Thanksgiving Special, as it will likely feature the Top Songs in each of the ten years of the 60's.
