Sep 25 is the issue date for week ending Oct 01 .
The years 1960 and 1961 are confusing, thanks to Billboard.
Anyway, Sep 25 would be a good choice, never aired before.

Actually, "Week Ending" didn't start until January 1962. This became Saturdays, and prior it was on Mondays.
The chart from today is from 9-18-61, and it was technically the week OF 9-18-61, which would go up to 9-24-61.

#1 which we will hear later, was Bobby Vee's only #1 record, "Take Good Care of My Baby."

Next week will be 1968, and most likely 9-28-68, when "Hey Jude" began its 9 week run at #1 on the Billboard chart. I have to say you got your money's worth on this record--backed with "Revolution"; it would total over 10 minutes.

"Hey Jude" & "Revolution" is the ultimate one-two punch.

Dave noted that in 1978 Don McLean covered “Crying” and that “you can hear that on 70s on 7.” In fact, Don’s version didn’t become a hit single until later (early 1981 in the US, 1980 in Britain) so if you hear his rendition on any SXM Decades channel it would be 80s on 8.

This weekend will be October1968. Just hope it won't be Oct 05 because this chart's date was played in 2016 by lou Simon.

He should play 9-28-68, but I don't think repeating a chart from 8 years ago is really too bad. You should see what happens over at 80's on 8--some charts are played 3 consecutive years.

Next Saturday will be 1960, and likely chart date is 10-10-60. #1 if 10-10-60 is not a favorite of mine "Mr. Custer." Just kind of on the cornball side to me, but enough people bought the record to make it to #1, so I guess I am in a minority!
