Dave is still not doing 1963 next week. It's been over 4 months since that year was played! It will be 1969. If Dave goes with closest date to next Saturday, 10-26-69, #1 would be "Can't Get Next To You," by the Temptations." If he goes into a future date, 11-1-69, #1 would be "Suspicious Minds" by Elvis Presley. This would be Elvis' last #1 record.

The fall of 1969 had some outstanding songs such as "Eli's Coming" by Three Dog Night,"Baby It's You" by Smith,"Down On The Corner/Fortunate Son"-Creedence Clearwater Revival & the aforementioned "Suspicious Minds" by Elvis Presley.

However, we won't here "Eli's Coming" if the 11-1-69 show is played, as it was #50 that week. Now, if 10-25-69 is played, it was the highest debut of the week, and would be played as that extra.

Three Dog Night was certainly the hottest band in the world in 1969-"Eli's Coming" was a fantastic song that was written by Laura Nyro.

I was disappointed that 1963 hasn't been played in over 5 months, but I can't do anything about it. Next week will be 1962. #1 regardless if Dave goes with 11-3-62 or 11-10-62 will be "He's A Rebel" by the Crystals. "He's A Rebel" was written by Gene Pitney, and that song kept him out of #1 with his own song, "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" which still became his biggest hit, reaching #2.

The group that actually sang "He's A Rebel" were The Blossoms that featured Darlene Love on lead vocals.

What about "Da Doo Ron Ron" and "Then He Kissed Me", were those the actual Crystals or Darlene love with Blossoms on those two songs?

My guess is that The Crystals not The Blossoms performed both "Da Doo Ron Ron" & "Then He Kissed Me".

I just give up--I have no clue why 1963 is not being featured. Can anyone reach Lou Simon to ask please? Next week is 1964--two shows right in between 1963-'62 today and '64 next week! Anyway, #1 is definitely "Baby Love" by the Supremes. There will be lots of British hits as well. Here is a rarity for 1964--not even one song by the Beatles, assuming Dave uses the 11-14-64 chart.

There will be another short one Saturday, as the songs remained under 3 minutes.
