On this week's countdown from 1968,Dave played "Those Were The Days" as an extra-He mentioned that it was the # 1 song on the British pop chart-It almost duplicated that feat on the Billboard Hot 100-However,it got stuck at # 2 behind "Hey Jude" by The Beatles-Here's a fun fact:"Those Were The Days" was produced by Paul Mc Cartney-It was one of the first releases on the Apple Records label which was launched by The Beatles.

1960 will be a very short countdown--probably the least in amount of time, and barely two hours.

Both 1965 and 1967 will be eligible in mid-October, as "It Ain't Me Babe" and "You Know What I Mean" by the Turtles drop out of the Top 40.

Dave sure did jump quickly to go with 1967. Likely date of the survey will be either 10-14-67 or 10-21-67. If it's 10-14-67 #1 is "The Letter" by the Boxtops. The mispronunciation of "aeroplane" instead of "airplane" came from the writer (Wayne Carson)'s father and included in the lyrics as it was. If 10-21-67, Lulu's "To Sir With Love" was #1. Great to hear a 1967 show, and it will be the last one of this year, as "She's My Girl" by the Turtles will enter the Top 40 in a few weeks.

Regarding next week's countdown from 1967,I'm inclined to think that Dave will use the Billboard Hot 100 chart from October 14th considering the countdown is airing the weekend of 10/12 & 10/13.

If Dave goes with 10/14/67,the # 40 song is "Love Bug,Leave My Heart Alone" by Martha & The Vandellas-If he goes with 10/21/67,the # 40 song was by another Motown act:The Temptations with "It's You That I Need".

It is in face 10-14-67. It seems like 1963 is way overdue for play. 1963 was last played on 6-1-24.

No 1963 for next week--it is going to be 1965! #1 for the likely survey date of 10-23-65 was "Yesterday". Hopefully 1963 will follow 1965 unless it's a Halloween Special for the last weekend of October.
