It looks like I won't be listening to the tribute on 93.3 on Sunday evening. I'll be listening to 101.5 K-HITS on Saturday morning instead.

Was just thinking – since Premiere has allowed stations to air the Kasem tribute show next weekend (July 5-6) as well, I supposed KOKZ may air a second marathon of shows as well, particularly on July 4. That is, to pick up the years not included in this weekend's marathon (in this case, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1976, 1977, 1981 and 1986). Two of those will probably be "regular" shows for next week, who knows? We'll just has to wait and see, as they say. Brian Brian - I do not believe we will be doing another weekend of shows - mainly because it takes up a TON of commercial inventory and my sales manager hates not playing more commercials and making money. I originally was going to wait until the July 4 weekend to program this special tribute weekend, but we ultimately decided to air the show while the story was still in the minds of the "average" person who may not even normally listen, but might since it's still in the news. Also, we already had planned a 'double shot' weekend for the 4th and already have sponsors lined up for that, so we couldn't suddenly change it. Either way, it's going to be a great weekend. I sent out a press release yesterday and got some nice coverage from the local paper and it was featured on the front page of their website.

Listening to this now on KOKZ - sounds great so far. Thanks for airing this. And so fitting I can listen to this on KOKZ, since that's the station I listened to AT 40 and CT 40 on for so many years growing up!

Update – been listening to the live feed of KOKZ's Casey Kasem tribute weekend. So far, coming off nicely, with the 1970 program (through the first two hours, as I type this) playing well. Wow, its a reminder of how different the AT40 show was in the very early days to what it is now.

Just heard the special as I was driving around on Lite Rock 99.3 Melbourne, FL WLRQ FM. As far as I know, they are not even an affiliate of AT40 the 70s or 80s.

My favorite was Rick Dees' heart-felt statement just before Donna Summer's "On the Radio".
