My favorite that peaked at #41 was the Super Bowl Shuffle by the Chicago Bears. I can remember hoping it would squeak in so Casey could introduce it!

I was listening to AT 40 from September 16, 1978 and Eddie Money's "Two Tickets to Paradise" debuted. It was a different version than what most are used to. Can anyone tell me what version it was and where I could get a copy?

Anyone know the date of the show in 1983/84(?) when the #s jingles changed to the ones used from 1984-1988?

I am curious if Casey has ever mentioned a personal "favorite" song(s) or a period of recording AT 40 that he was particularly fond of? Also, I wondered if he has a collection of the original run of AT 40?

It's funny how songs trigger memories. I was listening to the '76 year end yesterday and heard Afternoon Delight and immediately thought of the family picnic at my grandparents in July of that year and hearing that song played on my parent's car radio. I can still see the car sitting on the lawn with the doors open and hearing AT 40. I was a regular listener from then on and absolutely connect with the original show still today. I am a high school teacher and play my cds of the original shows for my students at school. They love it and ask "what's the countdown this week?"

Obviously the "numbers jingles" have changed over the years on AT40. Was there a particular company or group of singers that produced these? I particularly like the "numbers" jingles from '84-'87.

I am new to the board, but have been a huge AT40 fan for years. I first remember hearing AT40 in 1976 on WTLB AM out of Utica, NY when Starland Vocal Band was #1 with Afternoon Delight. As kids, we loved that song and obviously had no clue what the true meaning was! Every weekend was spent listening to Casey Kasem and every time I hear his voice it brings back nothing but great memories of an awesome childhood and fantastic music.
