Why? The Lions are "unstoppable" according to a member of the team!

While listening to WLTW in New York City last night between 6:45 and 7:45 or so, I heard TWO (count 'em) promos for the fact that they will go wall-to-wall Christmas music starting the day after Thanksgiving.
The good news...they're not flipping before Halloween (or even before Thanksgiving). The bad news...they're promoting this NOW?!?!?!?!?!?

If history has taught us anything, it is that WNIC will flip to all Christmas in about 2 1/2 weeks.

Why? The Lions are "unstoppable" according to a member of the team! Hmmm, I wonder which Detroit Lion said that. They finally won their first game, but they are already out of the playoffs. The last time the Lions won the NFL Championship was 1957. Casey Kasem was a dj at WJBK-AM in Detroit around that time. FIRE MILLEN! The Detroit Tigers won the ALCS this past Saturday. The Detroit Tigers are heading to the 2006 WORLD SERIES!!! GO TIGERS!!!

If history has taught us anything, it is that WNIC will flip to all Christmas in about 2 1/2 weeks. WNIC is asking the listeners this year on their website, when do you want to have the Xmas songs to start playing. However, you must register with WNIC to vote. However, I have a feeling Clear Channel has already made their minds when to start the Xmas music. It probably a marketing ploy to send WNIC promo material to your email and/or mail.

AT10 could still flip to all-Christmas sooner for other affiliates. I'll have to check to see if my local affiliate is also saying the same thing. They flipped to Christmas music a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving last year, and there's no reason why they won't do it again this year. In the past couple of years, they beat the competing AC station in the ratings whenever they flipped to Christmas music.

If the pattern follows from last year, there will be only two more normal AT10 shows this year. I'm assuming this 10/28-10/29 show will have some "Halloween" based theme. The 11/4-11/5 will be some non holiday theme show. Starting the 11/11-11/12, the AT10 Christmas rerun shows will began. In 2005 the AT10 Christmas shows started the 2nd weekend in November.
I wonder what those non Clear Channel radio stations will handle the November Christmas AT10 rerun shows.

If history has taught us anything, it is that WNIC will flip to all Christmas in about 2 1/2 weeks. Stupid good old WNIC flipped to Xmas music today around 4 pm. Thus, its the annual WNIC we prempt AT10 first Sunday in November. WOOD in Grand Rapids, MI also flipped to all Xmas music today. They are both CC stations. However, AT10 will still be heard in Grand Rapids and via the internet. It airs on WLHT. This will be the last new AT10 show this year until 12/30-31. The weekends theme is "Saxophone Songs." So Casey will take off the next 7 weeks from AT10. Thank goodness Casey will still do new AT20 shows during those 7 weeks. BTW, FIRE MILLEN!

I can't believe it is time for this again. How many stations that don't flip until at least Thanksgiving will have to go without AT10 the rest of this month. I guess we still wont be getting the "ideal" of new AT10 until at least Thanksgiving weekend with old AT10 Holidays reissued to WNIC and the other two or three stations that need them.

So is AT10 flipping to all holiday BS starting this week? This seems to get earlier and earlier every year!

AT10 hasn't flipped to Christmas yet as of this week. I know that for a fact because my local AC station (WLTM) flipped to all Christmas music as of last Friday at 7 pm, and they still aired AT10 this weekend, which happens to be a regular show.

I don't understand these radio stations switching to all-Christmas music in the 1st week of November. It is too early to play all-Christmas music. I'm not even ready for Christmas music yet. I usually don't get into Christmas music until at least the first or second week in December. If you want to play all-Christmas music fine, but at least wait until around the first of December when many other radio stations begin playing Christmas music. Also, it didn't surprise me that WNIC would start playing Christmas music this weekend. I went on their website last week, and they did a poll on when do you want WNIC to start playing Christmas music, and the majority picked the first week in November. I picked the middle of December. By the way, American Top 10 wasn't even aired this morning, probably because of WNIC switching to an all-Christmas format. Well, I have decided to not listen to WNIC until further notice, or at least until early to mid December.

I heard AT10 today on WMRS. WMRS is not a Clear Channel station. Thus, I knew they would not switch to all Xmas. The November 11-12 AT10 show is a regular show. However, there are two Xmas songs on this AT10 show. THE VINCE GUARLDI TRIO - O Tannenbaum and JOSE FELICIANO - Feliz Navidad are played. (There is a Michael Bolton song "When a Man Loves a Woman" on AT10 also. YEECH! Be forewarned!)
To my understanding, there is no special AT10 Christmas show this weekend. WNIC most likely will only air the commericals from AT10. WRVF from Toledo, switched to Xmas music on 11/10. I wonder if they will air AT10 Sunday night? Usually, WRVF is pretty good on airing AT10, even if they flipped to Christmas.
WVMX in Cincinnatti has not yet switched to Xmas. Last year WVMX flipped the first Monday in Novermber. Thus, I should be able to listen to AT20 HOT AC on WVMX again on 11/12.

True, but WVMX's website has recently gotten its "Christmas makeover", so my guess is that it is only a matter of time.
