@paul .... but why are you "re-running" all these old historic topics on this board yesterday ? Do you get paid for the number of postings out here ? Just wondering .... since I can't see a clear need to bring up some of these very old topics from the beginning of the year. Don't get me wrong, I was just wondering WHY this happens .......

I think what Paul did was great. Gets some old topics that "hold up" back on people's radar screens. We'll perhaps hear from some people who didn't respond and/or read the posts when they originally appeared. Right on, Paul!

Well, I had to check the two Canadian station today that air AT10, Q92 from Montreal and Magic 100 in Ottawa. Both stations did not air this weeks AT10 Christmas show.
Q92 from Montreal replayed Lezza Gibbons show that they normally air on Saturday mornings. Magic 100 in Ottawa aired this weeks AT20 Hot AC show. Thus, those stations don't plan on airing the AT10 Christmas shows at all.
By they way, does Casey pre tape all those liners for all AT10 Christmas shows in one day? He doesn't say too much, and several liners its "You're listening to an AT10 Christmas."

it is still possible they might air the christmas shows when it's not....you know....over a month away!
One of the things which could be bothersome, if the station that reran Leeza's show decides this whole Christmastime deal is more trouble than it's worth, they may just drop the show altogether.

You're right Paul. What they do this year (again) is the absolute killer for about half of their affiliates. With that early Christmas in November, the show is unplayable for many many outlets. A very simple but helpful idea would be the rebroadcast of Christmas shows from last year, at least for the November weekends, on those stations who have gone already all X-mas now. Give the others a chance to stay with the programme and pull out an all new AT10 show ..... Maybe they learn about this when they lose a massive number of stations over the holiday season. MAJIC 100 in Ottawa did an edited version of the AT20 yesterday, because they can't play several songs within this countdown. I have talked to the PD and they told me it really is a problem for their station. Most canadian (AC) stations are not going all christmas before December, some not before the second weekend of December ...... wich seems to be only natural and "normal" ..... because it's not Christmas in November, except for Clear Channel.

Here's one from the "dare to dream" department... if Premiere gets enough complaints from non-Christmas stations this year, maybe they'll do a choice of shows for at least some of the weeks next year.

A choice of shows at least until Thanksgiving weekend is all they really need. So that's what -- two extra AT10 shows to do a year? I'm sure Casey would be glad to do it.

Yep. Question is would Premiere/CC be happy to PAY him for it?

heres an idea, give stations a choice of this....AT10 Christmas, or an AT40 FB show(with an AT10 open explaining it) since most of the music on those is acceptable on AC radio now.

They can have it even more simple .... and cheaper. There is no need to produce extra shows for the month of November. For the Christmas stations they have a wide variety of X-Mas shows from the past 2 years for a re-broadcast. The Christmas Music is timeless, as the christmas shows are too. Premiere just has to produce their regular AT10 AC show and give other stations the option to choice the download of the programme they want to air. That simple it could be !
