Picture this: More than 3 weeks until Christmas and 4 more AT10 Christmas shows to go .... And I'm already tired of hearing them ..... after 3 (!!) weekends in November (!!) with all X-mas AT10's. I guess these coming weekends will be the first time in decades (!!) I will not tune into one of Casey's available shows. I was wondering if Premiere will recognize their IMO really big mistake on this years pre-christmas season I believe they made a really big damage on Casey's market presence.

Other than a few songs here and a few songs there, I really haven't listened to AT10 Holidays much yet. In fact I didn't hear the show at all this past weekend. However, now that we are into December and the incredibly cheap Christmas lights are strung around the perimeter of the dorm with duct tape the season is here and I will probably listen to this weekends show.

So, did Casey start the Top 60 Christmas countdown this week (or at least mention that it was coming up next week?)
I wonder if it'll be the same one as last year, with a few songs switched around to "freshen it up"?

Casey's Top 60 Christmas countdown will begin next weekend and conclude Christmas weekend. He mentioned it during this week's show. My guess is it will be similar to last year's, with a few additions/subtractions.

Yeah, they'll probably add new songs like "Up On The Housetop" and put them in place of the songs that the AT40 staff decides they don't like anymore. I remember they did that with the original AT20 Christmas special (the one the Christmas stations ran every single week during the Christmas season). I believe in 2001 and 2002, it was the same countdown and in 2003, they added about five new songs to it. I only listened to it one time each year that WLIT ran it (they did not in 2001) and then threw in a vintage AT40 show that I had during WLIT's 9-12 timeslot for AT40. That is, at home; I don't work for WLIT or anything

running the same show 4-5 weeks straight had to get really old, really fast. Did anyone listen everyweek to the same thing over and over again?

The Top 60 Christmas show of 2005 on AT10 is mostly a rerun of 2004. Casey says the exact same things as he did last year. The songs from 60 to 31 are in the same position.
The only differences are the optional segments that were placed at the end of hour 1 and 2, and segment 4 in hour 3. These songs were not on the show last year but are all AT10 Christmas extras. Also the 6 second jingle ID is at the beginning of the hour not the end.
However, to fit the optional segments in the proper 3 hour period this change occured. In 2004, the end of the first hour had #52 song Joy to the World, then an AT10 Christmas extra which ended hour 1. Hour 2 Started with #51 Santa Claus is Coming to Town then #50 Silent Night. After a commerical break #49 song with the Chipmunks was played.
In 2005, Hour 1 played out this way. #52 Joy to the World was followed by #51 Santa Claus is Coming to Town, then #50 Silent Night. After a commerical, the optional AT10 Christmas extra was played and hour one ended (it was not the same as the extra after #52 in 2004). Hour #2 started with the #49 song with the Chipmunks.

My guess is most of Casey's voicetracks were preserved from last year. His voice hasn't changed enough over the course of 2005 to justify him re-doing the whole show just because of those few changes.

OOPS! Better get the record straight. Oh well, they made an error with the "Take My Breath Away" intro on AT20 from the 11/19 show, so we're all human.
I had the wrong song for #49. It was Last Chirstmas by Wham! Nuber #48 was The Chipmunk Song.
In 2004, the first hour ended this way. #52, AT10 Christmas Extra. Hour #2 in 2004, started with #51, #50, and #49. After commerical #48 was played.
In 2005, the first hour ended like this way. #52, #51, #50. Then commerical break. Finally new AT10 Christmas extra for 2005. Hour #2 in 2005, started with #49 then #48. Then it followed the same pattern as 2004.
Don't forget, FIRE MILLEN!

OOPS! Don't forget, FIRE MILLEN! Why? All that drama was the only thing that made watching that game yesterday entertaining?

So far as I know, the Christmas shows this year are basically slightly edited versions of last year's programs.

Hopefully next year they will concentrate their work on making a second choice for non christmas affiliates, instead of editing around old christmas programmes. Take 'em like they are. They don't need any editing anymore, because it's all the same every weekend. This year it might happened due to the segment changes effictive in 2005, but isn't there any room to make a substitute show ? If AT10 will still be around next year, I hope Premiere learned from their mistakes in 2005. Because what they did over the past 2 months is not really a buster for getting and holding AT10 affiliates.

But it made WNIC happy...an affiliate which dropped the show at random due to "Flashback Weekends" for entire summer and now runs it long before the birds wake up And isn't that what is most important? . .end sarcasm. .
Also - why wouldn't AT10 be around in a year?

Ugggghhhh!!!!! Its snowing up here in Michigan today. At least the snow melts right away. It means WNIC will flip to xmas music in less than 3 weeks time. Thus, AT10 will be all xmas in about 4 or 5 weeks time, with reruns of 2004 and 2005 shows. Thanks goodness for AT20. At least there will be new Casey shows during November and December on AT20.
GO TIGERS!!!!!!! BTW, FIRE MILLEN!
