The PPM is the Portable People Meter. It is the way stations measure ratings now, rather than Arbitron diaries. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portable_People_MeterIt is also the device that has proven folks don't want to hear unfamiliar music, long jock talk breaks, and shows like Delilah. Interesting. I've never had one of these PPM's and I've never liked Delilah! I remember filling out one of those radio diaries in the mid-2000s. Arbitron paid me a buck, I believe it was.

Can't stand long jock talk breaks...never listen to morning radio as a result...and Delilah. But definitely want to hear unfamiliar music instead of the familiar top 5 hit for the 248th time.
