[...] BONUS: These countdowns are somewhat of a contrast. I love 16 of the Top 21 songs from 10/6/79 but only 5 of the Bottom 19. Meanwhile, I only love 5 of the Top 18 songs from 10/4/86 yet love 16 of the Bottom 22. And some songs from the 86 countdown you will probably never like ... I don't want to name names but the titles might sound like "Cancing On The Dealing", "Woo Of Tarts" and "Laby Bove" ? At least the Lionel Richie tune has a key change which saves the song from being a total abomination. The Regina tune, other than the refrain, is such an unmemorable, nondescript tune... I cannot think of any lyric to the song right now, other than "Baby Looooove... Baby Looooove..."... and the ever stupid baby noises stolen from the Gerber Baby Food commercials... . And Stacey Q... ugh, ugh ugh, ugh ugh, dumb dumb, dumb dumb song... (maybe my version would have peaked higher than her craptastic #3 single).
Most of 1986 was a very good year musically but 10/4/86 was not one of the better Top 20's for me.
Thanks for bring up bad memories, listenerwants2know .

Since this is not possible, he becomes a " Bad Boy (#35, 1982)". Shortly afterwards he gets the feeling " I Still Can´t Get Over Loving You" (#12, 1983) and his longing tells him " All I´m Missing Is You (#32, 1990)". Then he listens to the AT40 countdown from 9/22/84 and sings That Old Song (#21, 1981), " Ghostbusters" (#1, 1984). And if someone says " Let Me Go (#38, 1982)" and wants to turn off an AT40 countdown on the radio, tell him that You Can´t Change That (#9, 1979) - simply because the show is just too good.

10/4/86:Art Of Noise With Max Headroom - Paranoimia Loverboy - Heaven In Your EyesNu Shooz - Point Of No Return Peter Gabriel - In Your Eyes Van Halen - Love Walks In Jack and JillThe story of Jack and Jill in this thread continues, of course, and Jack and Jill become parents. One day Jack junior asks his father: "Dad, what´s the difference between confident and confidental ?" And Jack answers: "You are my son. Of that I am confident. Your friend Mark is my son as well. That´s confidental." And here´s my " sweet love"-edtion for this week:
10/4/86:
Anita Baker - Sweet Love Berlin - Take My Breath Away Boston - Amanda Cyndi Lauper - True Colors Gloria Loring & Carl Anderson - Friends And LoversTime for an extra: Trio RioTrio Rio was founded in 1983 by Peter Fessler, Cläusel Quitschau and Klaus Mages. But it wasn´t until a few years later that the band was able to record an interesting song. The success depended heavily on the new member Oliver Heuss, who developed Trio Rio from jazz standards towards Latin rock. In 1986 Trio Rio had a big hit with "New York - Rio - Tokyo". Peter Fessler was initially considered to be Al Jarreau for this title. The expectations of the band then grew immeasurably, but Trio Rio could not live up to these expectations. So it remained a hit and the band broke up in 1990. An official video is not available, there are some recordings of performances from the 80s online: from my musical category "daydreamer"My motto: "Not always the often heard hits."

ETA: LOL, this may be two much. 😂 2 Unlimited had "No Limit". But two much ... hmmm ... maybe "Touch Too Much" ... so, ... "You Shook Me All Night Long" ...
...
But wait: Now, I´m sure: He´s listening to the extra "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" ... and his current atmosphere is ... "Frantic Romantic".
