You all are are a bunch of "Goody Two Shoes" for picking on me here... Here is "Southern Cross" by CS&N: By the way... who is deleting posts here??? My picks for this week's shows were at the top of page 127 last night. I think this demands an AT40 investigation...

Or listening to "Downtown" and thinking of One 2 Many. Some of you may be thinking I have had One 2 Many that I can't post two video links correctly... But not ... while reading this post I´m thinking of a song by the British band Sailor from the year 1977. From the album "Third Step" here are Sailor with "One Drink Too Many":

10/9/82 (A):38 Special - You Keep Runnin´ Away America - You Can Do Magic Glenn Frey - The One You LoveJackson Browne - Somebody´s Baby REO Speedwagon - Sweet Time 10/8/83 (B):Frank Stallone - Far From Over Madness - It Must Be Love Spandau Ballet - TrueThe Fixx - One Thing Leads To Another The Police - King Of Pain Happy birthdayThe Rockhouse is an event hall in the Salzburg district of Schallmoos at the foot of the Kapuzinerberg. The building was originally used as an ice cellar and wine store. After extensive renovations in the early 1990s, the Rockhouse was opened as an event location. The house is run by the Rockhouse Salzburg association.
The house was built in 1842 by Joseph and Elise Gansl. Part of the structure, including the vaults, still dates from this time. In the 1980s, a discussion began about the deficits in Salzburg´s cultural landscape: no infrastructure, too few opportunities to perform, no rehearsal rooms, no adequate funding in the music scene, and no concerts by interesting international bands due to the lack of a stage. From this discussion the Pro-Ton association was founded, which in 1985 received a unanimous opinion from the cultural committee of the Salzburg municipal council for its rockhouse project.
In 1990 the local council decided unanimously to convert today´s Rockhouse Salzburg. Wolfgang Descho and Michl Matschedolnig were in charge of creating the concept, and in 1991 the Rockhouse concept and the renovation plans were presented. The Rockhouse was finally opened on 10/14/1993, and Wolfgang Descho is the managing director of the Rockhouse Salzburg.
In cooperation with the regional broadcasters FS1 and Radiofabrik, the Rockhouse publishes the TV format Local Heroes - Rockhouse and the radio series Radio Rockhouse. And here are my " rock"-editions of the week: 10/9/82 (A):Joan Jett & The Blackhearts - Do You Wanna Touch Me John Cougar - Hurts So Good
John Cougar - Jack And Diane Rick Springfield - I Get Excited Survior - Eye Of The Tiger 10/8/83 (B):Bryan Adams - This Time David Bowie - Modern Love Huey Lewis & The News - Heart And Soul Rod Stewart - What Am I Gonna Do Talking Heads - Burning Down The House Time for an extra: Hot Chocolate1969 was a great year: The first man walked on the moon and the hippies celebrated Woodstock. At the same time, three guest workers and party stallions with Caribbean blood decided to found a pop band somewhere in the London ghetto district of Brixton. Not a bad starting point: the rhythmic potential of the Antilles gathered in one band. The only thing missing was a suitable voice until later in 1969 Errol Brown (Jamaican) found the band. He put the finishing touches to the band´s sound with his soulful timbre and distinctive skinhead. Hot Chocolate´s international breakthrough came in 1974 with the title "Emma", the story of a hopeful young mime who, despite her talent, remains unsuccessful and ultimately takes this as an opportunity to take her own life. The song reached #8 in the USA and was later sung several times by other bands (including The Sisters of Mercy and Urge Overkill). In 1981, at the height of their success, Hot Chocolate played at the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana. A year later the single "Girl Crazy" was released: from my musical category "daydreamer"My motto: "Not always the often heard hits."

>Ain't No Way To Treat A Lady< Such a good record. I just learned that the same guy who produced this single then produced the Silk Degrees album! That would be Joe Wissert. Also Boz' next LP, the under-appreciated "Down Two Then Left" from 1977. Also produced or co-produced (with Maurice White) all of Earth, Wind, and Fire's early albums, prior to their '75 'breakthrough' LP "That's the Way Of the World".

I remember buying Down Two Then Left as soon as it came out. I thought they didn't pick a good first single, but then it wasn't really a single-friendly LP. Then again, how many Silk Degrees are there? That was like a greatest hits LP for singles, even the cuts that weren't singles.

10/10/87:Bryan Adams - Victim Of Love Europe - CarrieLoverboy - Notorious REO Speedwagon - In My DreamsSmokey Robinson - One Heartbeat30 years of CliniClowns AustriaThe CliniClowns Austria have been bringing fun and joie de vivre to hospital beds for 30 years. With that, Dr. Trude Trüdchen, Dr. Wuuzel, Dr. Schnick-Schnack and Co. have already given hope to 1.5 million people. Because it´s always a gift when the CliniClowns come into the room. Their "clown visit" is held for free, but the value cannot be overstated. They take the small and large patients on an imaginative journey that should help them to cope better with their suffering far beyond the actual visit. Ideally, the end result is recovery and discharge. But that´s not always so. And even in such cases and even in the hospice, laughter works wonders. Laughter Therapy ? Yes, it really does exist and the health benefits have been scientifically proven many times over. When you laugh, the body releases messenger substances, so-called endorphins ("happiness hormones"). Not only does this lift our spirits and give us an energy boost, sometimes it´s also survival training. Because who laughs doesn´t give up ! One minute of roaring laughter replaces 45 minutes of relaxation training ! Laughter counteracts fears, relieves pain, improves breathing, strengthens the immune system, releases healing powers and thus accelerates the recovery process. CliniClowns Austria are active in 56 domestic hospitals and geriatric centers. Founded in 1991 as the first association of its kind in Europe, 73 CliniClowns make around 1,677 hospital visits per year. They visit chronically and seriously ill children at their hospital beds, since 1994 also adult patients, since 1997 residents in old people´s and nursing homes. There is close cooperation with the staff in the respective facility. The laugh visits are free of charge. Financing is done exclusively through membership fees, income from sponsoring, PR appearances, benefit events, subsidies, donations and other fundraising activities.
And the following " happiness"-edition could also provide happiness hormones: 10/10/87:ABC - When Smokey Sings Belinda Carlisle - Heaven Is A Place On Earth The Cars - You Are The Girl The Other Ones - Holiday Tiffany - I Think We´re Alone Now Time for an extra: Bolland & BollandRobert and Ferdinand Bolland learned to play the guitar very early on from their older brother Tom. They were discovered in South Africa when they were 10 or 11 years old and almost got a record deal. In 1969 the Bolland family moved to The Hague (Netherlands). There the brothers played in different bands. As Bolland & Bolland they wrote and produced several songs and albums for Falco and Roger Chapman. In 1987 Bolland & Bolland hit the charts with "Tears Of Ice", the soundtrack to a successful German crime series: from my musical category "daydreamer"My motto: "Not always the often heard hits."
