I even noticed "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by Starship might have been shortened by Premiere cuting out the first chorus and second verse. As they frequently do. At least Premiere didn't edit on 2/21/1987 "Land of Confusion" by Genesis this time!

Regarding the 2 OPTIONAL EXTRAS that were demoted from the broadcast stories and Extra for the 3/5/1976 AT40: The 70's show: * How come "He'll Have to Go" wasn't played in full? * And I guess the last verse and chorus for "City of New Orleans" (The last chorus starts "Good night, America, how are you?" instead of "Good morning, America, how are you?") wasn't played.

Premiere edited almost 1 minute of "Walking in Rhythm" by the Blackbyrds at #10 fron 4/26/1975!
This countdown's original cue sheet shows exactly 10:00 minutes for its entire segment, when it's now around 9:05.

I heard the "Walking in Rhythm" via WXXM and WVLI - It was complete mostly and not edited to about a minute. But was there an edit by Premiere and/or Watermark for David Bowie's "Young Americans" on the 4/26/1975 AT40: The 70's?

On AT40: The 80's 4/21/1984 the first chorus and second verse of "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper was edited out! I guess it is a Premiere edit.

As I am listening to AT40: The 80's 7/18/1981 via WXXM Rewind 92.1 Madison, Wisconin this Sunday morning - I wonder if the #1 song of the previous week - "Bette Davis Eyes" by Kim Carnes - played to start off the show omitted the second verse and chorus, the second verse features the hand clapping after "She'd rather take you home..." is sung.

On AT40: The 80's 7/28/1984 the second verse and chorus of Dan Hartman's "I Can Dream About You" was edited out - Must be a Premiere hatchet/edit job!

On the 8/5/1978 show "Copacabana" had the second verse cut. It doesn't sound right when they cut a story song. Yeah, I noticed that when I was listening to that very show this weekend. Manilow was singing about how Lola did her dancing and her boyfriend Tony tended bar, and then all of a sudden - "*SCREAM* She lost her love". Um, how exactly did she lose her love? Even worse, when the song was played on AT20 as an extra one time (early 2000s), they cut the second verse, but left in the longer bridge that was in the album version - you know, where the back-up singer pretty much ad lib ("Talking Havana, have a banana"). If they had time to include that, then why not the second verse - or the second verse instead? Did not make sense at all.

It would be silly if during the AT40 run of "Copacabana" only the first verse and chorus or only the third (last) verse and chorus was played - even at a time when the show was months away from its expansion from 3 hours to 4 hours!

On AT40: The 70's 8/13/1977: Johnny Rivers' "Slow Dancing (Swayin' to the Music)" had a verse and chorus cut off - Watermark or Premiere or both?

On AT40: The 70's 9/15/1979 "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough" was edited not playing the instrumental bridge part! Premiere editing, of course.

For the 3rd. 10/1/1977 AT40: The 70's OPTIONAL EXTRA of "Baby Come Back", after the second chorus, Larry Morgan outtroed and we didn't get to hear the rest of the song with bridge and final chorus!

While listening to 10/13/79 show Premiere had this past weekend, I noticed that "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" was promo single version. I recall AT40 having a custom edit of "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough". If anyone has the original show, can you verify if the promo single or AT40's edit was played. Both cut off the rap. The AT40 edit does not have the instrumental break.
