AT40: The 70's 9/29/1973 which I am listening via WVLI Kankakee this Saturday afternoon had the first chorus that goes "Listen to my love pound, listen to my love sound..." edited out! - must be a Premiere edit! Uh, that's Tony's HEART that's pounding, not his love...

On AT40: The 80's 10/6/1984: The second Grandmaster Flash chant, second verse, and second chorus of "I Feel For You" by Chaka Khan (with Grandmaster Flash doing the chant intro and towards the end besides post first chorus) was edited out - Premiere edit, perhaps?

AT40: The 80's 10/18/1980 had the second verse of Eddie Rabbitt's "Drivin' My Life Away" (which has the line "Waitress, pour me another cup of coffee..." in it) omitted along with the second chorus. Premiere edit or original Watermark edit?

Premiere edit or original Watermark edit? This was original, and might be the first one since the expansion to 4 hours. I believe the first 4-hour original edit I heard in my run of listening to these shows is from October 1980. This might be it.

That was the first edit in the 4 hour shows that I recall. "Don't Stop 'Till You Get Enough" was also edited sometimes from the long version. Both songs have stock 45s over 5 minutes and AT40 did their own edits. They did not use the promo 45 versions for these two songs.

On This week's Premiere 1973 show (10/27/1973), "Angie" by the Rolling Stones was edited. Does anyone know if that was Premiere or original?

On This week's Premiere 1973 show (10/27/1973), "Angie" by the Rolling Stones was edited. Does anyone know if that was Premiere or original? It was original; that track clocks in at 3:46 (including opening jingle). And, by golly, you're right on Rod Stewart's "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" - it was edited on 3/17/1979 at #3, yet it was unedited in the recap. So now I believe that's the earliest original edit in the 4-hour era. I've wondered why sometimes they don't use the promo 45 as opposed to editing the album cut if time constraints are an issue, but maybe it either just fit better time-wise or possibly not being able to get the promo.

On AT40: The 70's 10/29/1977: Following the end of Stephen Bishop's "On and On" (The last song of hour 1) it went straight to the closing theme with Casey outro for hour 1 without a Casey outro for "On and On" - A Premiere doing or not?
Hope this isn't the reverse of the NO NUTHIN' like in the Shadoe Stevens AT40 era.

I remember a show where there was no backsell for Rod Stewart's "Tonight's The Night" (I think it was an early 1977 show), which was also from the original show.

On AT40: The 70's 11/18/1972 there was no Casey intro following the "Billboard's Number 30" jingle leading into the start of "Rock 'n Roll Soul" by Grand Funk Railroad - A no nuttin' (Take that, Shadoe Stevens) done by Premiere or Watermark?

The original show has Casey talking after 6 seconds post-jingle, so not quite a no-nuttin' there at least.

In the AT40 1973 Christmas countdown: Was Perry Como's "There's No Place Like Home For The Holidays" shortened or not? The second singing of the verse with "Pennsylvania and some homemade pumpkin pie" was left out.
I wish Ken Martin did a supersized version of the AT40 1971/1973 Christmas shows - maybe combine them with special rankings?

I'm not sure if it was Ken or not, but the 1970's Christmas shows have had several removals AND additions through the last 10-15 years. If you look at the original cuesheets vs what was played last week in the 1971 show, there were several songs that weren't played in the original broadcast (due to them not being able to track down good recordings at the time) that have been re-inserted in the place they should have been. If songs have been shortened in the most recent airings (which, according to WTOJ's website, 1973 is a mono-to-stereo reproduction), it was likely to fit in a song otherwise unplayed in 1971/1973 or to tighten up one of the medleys that were played.
