Been listening to my original copy of AT40 from 10/10/1987 this morning, and there is an edit on "Only In My Dreams" by Debbie Gibson, which also is a LDD in this show. There's a better way to edit that song.
ETA: "Brilliant Disguise" was also edited at #30; likely due to it being the last song in the first hour.

On AT40: The 80's 10/4/1986 (now airing on WXXM Rewind 92.1 FM Madison on time around 8 AM this Sunday 10/3/2021 morning!), the #39 song "Word Up" by Cameo had the second verse and chorus omitted. Was it Premiere? Indeed, it was.

On this week's 1982 show, "You Should Hear How She Talks About You" by Melissa Manchester was edited by cutting out the first chorus and second verse. I listened to the Flashback version of the show earlier today and the song was intact, so it was definitely a Premiere edit in the AT40: The 80s series. I'm assuming it was edited like that the first time that it was played in this series (in 2011).

Just not well thought out.

I don't recall Shake Your Love or Out of the Blue ever getting edited like that (or even edited at all). I wonder if it has to with the songs being more upbeat.

"Shake Your Love" was edited a few times, IIRC, but it was a "normal" edit (cutting out either the second verse or the bridge - or possibly both - on different weeks, of course).

That was an interesting edit of The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald on this weeks 10/30/76 show. The first part of the song where all of the lyrics were run together. If Gord had sung it like that he would have run out of breath! A lot of the other music was edited out but at least the complete story was still told. Not a terrible edit but very intersting!

On AT40: The 80's 11/19/1983 the second verse and chorus of "Major Tom (Coming Home)" by Peter Schilling was omitted. That wasn't the way I heard it on WLS AM 890 Chicago back at the 11/19/1983 time! Premiere's editing hatchet strikes again!

Party All the Time was cut off early on the 12/7/1985 show, something that happened quite a bit during it's Top 40 run.

On AT40: The 70's 12/10/1977 the second verse and chorus of "You Can't Turn Me Off" by High Inergy was omitted, it may be either an edit originally by Watermark or current by Premiere.

I am now listing to AT40: The 70's 12/11/1976 this Saturday afternoon via WVLI Kankakee, and the #40 song "Whispering/Churchez La Femme/Se Si Bon" by the Dr. Buzzard Original Savannah Band is edited to about 1 minute and some seconds - Is it a Premiere edit?
Also edited on 12/11/1976 - The #39 song "I Like Dreaming" by Kenny Nolan - also a Premiere edit?
I didn't even like the #10 song of "Nights are Forever Without You" by England Dan and John Ford Coley being edited to about a minute and a 1/2! Also done by Premiere?
