I noticed "Abracadabra" on Premiere's 7/31/82 was from a promotional 12" single, which runs at Lp pitch, cuts one of the verses in early part part of the song, and has most Lp ending. It it runs 4:37. I am wondering if this original or Premiere. If anyone has the original show maybe you can check. I do remember AT40 either playing the 12" promo version or the Lp version, not sure which, 42 years ago at least once, but I am not sure if it was on 7/31/82. Not sure if this is the same version you're talking about, but I remember hearing a version of "Abracadabra" back in 1982 in which the verse that starts out, "You make me hot, you make me sigh..." was the one right before the chorus instead of the one right afterward. Does anyone remember this version?

Does anyone remember this version? After checking the charismusicgroup.com, it looks like the original show played the Lp version. The rundown sheet has Lp written next the "Abracadabra" and the cue sheet has the segment listed at 10:13, which is enough time to play the Lp version of "Abracadabra" and "Hold Me". I think Premiere either spliced in the !2" promo or they made the same or similar edit.

Is the #38 song on AT40: The 70's 9/13/1975 "Do It Any Way You Want To" by People's Choice shortened by Premiere or not?
Also for 9/13/1975: The second verse/chorus of "Rocky" by Austin Roberts with the birth of the baby ("Rocky, I never had a baby before...") was taken out. Either it's Watermark or Premiere.

On AT40: The 80's 9/25/1982: Did "Gypsy" by Fleetwood Mac get shortened by Premiere a little bit? Yes it did - right after the second chorus, it cut right to the end of the song, taking out the bridge (and more, I'm sure) in the process.

They played a different version of "I Ran" by A Flock Of Seagulls than usual (which, of course, was the single version, where the chorus repeats and fades). Instead, the song had a guitar solo that led to a cold ending, like the album version. But that one had a weird space-age sounding intro, which was absent from the version played on AT40 this week. I'm assuming that was some demo version of the song? (Oddly enough, that was the one that I heard most often on the radio back in 1982)

On AT40: The 80's 10/24/1981: Was the second LDD of "Upside Down" by Diana Ross shortened by Premiere omitting a verse/chorus or two?

On this week's 10/23/76, what Premiere gave us was more like "A Tenth of Beethoven," not a fifth.

On AT40: The 70's 11/4/1972 "I'll Be Around" wasn't finished when it got to the instrumental part and Casey cut in with the outro - I think it is original Watermark and not by Premiere.
