'Walk on the wild side''s 1st mention of the colored girls got edited out. That's the 45 edit ... so blame that one on the record company. |

On the 4-18-81 show, the 2nd verse of 'Angel of the morning' was edited out.

On 4/19/75, "Only Yesterday" (one of my favourites in the countdown) was really butchered. One line was repeated twice back-to-back, though I'm not sure if that was my computer skipping or actually part of the edit (or if the editing was done originally or by Premiere). Either way, a bad job.

Later on, one of my favourite songs in the countdown, "Angel of the Morning", was also cut down (not the only time that happened, at least in Premiere's broadcasts.) |

The only edit on the '81 show that I really noticed--because (like you) it was in one of my favorite songs on the countdown--was on "Just Between You and Me". The French verse was cut out, which is a pretty common edit on that song. |

On 4-19-75 AT40 they used the album version of "Shakey Ground." It was edited and skipped the first instrumental section but left in the whole album version of the second instrumental section. Comes out to about the same length as the official single edit. In this case a cleverly done edit that's more fun than the single edit. It sounded great.

Never noticed Tony Maiden's vocals on the second verse of Rufus' "Once You Get Started" before. Seems I only remember Chaka Khan's singing on the song. Anyone know if that's the album version?
Yet another song to feature the Tower Of Power horns. Never get enough of that Oakland soul!

Never noticed Tony Maiden's vocals on the second verse of Rufus' "Once You Get Started" before. Seems I only remember Chaka Khan's singing on the song. Anyone know if that's the album version? Yet another song to feature the Tower Of Power horns. Never get enough of that Oakland soul! Just heard this on CKWW. Did not notice it last night on WMGN (I was drifting in and out of sleep). I can't remember ever hearing this version with that extra non-Chaka verse before! Must be from the LP. |

Wonder if Premiere had a problem with the 2nd verse of 'Movin' out. Didn't seem like it'd be edited in the original broadcast.
