I don't see why Premire would need to edit the songs now. The new trend today is to speed up the shows.

On this weekend's Casey Kasem's AT40 countdown show from January 25th, 1975, "Can't Get It Out of My Head" by The Electric Light Orchestra had its 2nd verse edited out and clocked in at 3:08! Original or Premiere?   Exactly what happened with this week's show from 3/22/75, man it seems like they just love to butcher the same ELO songs over and over again.  |

Has 'Tonight' x3, EVER been played in full by Premiere? Wasn't that way, this past weekend. 2nd verse edited out, again!

'Lookin' for a new love' had its 2nd verse edited off. Had to be a Premiere hatchet job. It moved up 9 notches that week.

'Walk on the wild side''s 1st mention of the colored girls got edited out. The 1st mention of the "colored girls" accompanies the verse about Candy, which is frequently omitted for obvious reasons (because she never lost her head, even when.... well, you know). |

The OE '1 lonely night' had Gary Richrath's guitar solo edited out. The song only ran 3:20, so it could've been played in full.

Don't know whether that early voiceover was original, but talking over the Stevie Wonder/Bruce Springsteen portion of "We Are the World" is definitely taking the spark out of the song's emotional peak.
