Taylor Dayne:
Signature hit: "Tell It To My Heart" (#7 in early 1988) Biggest hit: "I'll Always Love You" (#3 in the fall of 1988) Highest-charting hit: "Love Will Lead You Back" (#1 in early 1990)
Earth, Wind & Fire:
Signature hit: "September" (I think it peaked at #2 in 1978, but I know it definitely didn't hit #1) Biggest hit: "After The Love Has Gone" (#2 in August or early September 1979) Highest-charting hit: "Shining Star" (#1 in 1976)

Also, "Shining Star" was #1 in 1975, not 1976. (We get to hear it in this weekend's Premiere presentation.)

Caseyfan4ever. I'd agree with the Air Supply song you mentioned, but I'd say that the 2 biggest and most remembered songs by Christopher Cross were Arthurs Theme and Sailing. The other 3 singles from the first album are almost never played on radio in any format. (Ride Like The Wind, Never Be The Same & Say You'll Be Mine)
Sailing hit #1 and spent 4 less weeks on the top 40. I think thats enough to rank higher in a year end ranking.

For Taylor Dayne, I'd think Love Will Lead You Back is her signature hit. Its still played while the other one is not as much.

For Toto, their highest charting hit was "Africa" and their biggest hit was "Rosanna", but for a signature, I was thinking instead of "Rosanna", I'd say it's "Hold The Line". was going to post this until I read this.

For Taylor Dayne, I'd select 'Love Will Lead You Back' for all three categories; it remains a staple at AC radio 22+ years after hitting #1, and certainly ranked among the very best singles of 1990, a year in which females dominated the charts every week, as well as the year-end charts.
'Tell It To My Heart' and 'I'll Be Your Shelter' are also staples at AC radio, and I would be surprised if several of these singles wind up in the libraries of many Classic Hits stations someday, or already are.
Chicago---signature hit and biggest hit--'If You Leave Me Now', a staple at AC & Classic Hits stations for years to come.

As to Chicago, the Hottest Hot 100 hits ranking of the top 3000 singles of the rock era ranks "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" at 136 and "If You Leave Me Now" at 265. The signature song is not so concise, I'll admit that. But I think the era when Chicago's music was dominated by horns is their signature sound, so it would have be one of those songs.

I say 'Just You and Me' is Chicago's signature song from the 70's
