It's also a song that was released on Dukedeb's birthday, a song that would go on to become the longest running #1 song since the song that was #1 the day she was born, a song that was performed by the only artist to be more successful at that time than her father, an artist who died the day You Light Up My Life was released. I think you're talking about the fact that "You Light Up My Life" was released dukedeb's birthday on August 16,1977, which was also the day Elvis died. And his "It's Now Or Never" was #1 the day she was born. All correct except it was Don't Be Cruel/Hound Dog that was #1 the day she was born.

There's two acts that I think fit the spirit of this thread even if they don't exactly match the guidelines. One is Billy Idol. You look at his top 40 hits: #1 Mony Mony #2 Cradle of Love #4 Eyes Without a Face #6 To Be A Lover #20 Sweet Sixteen #23 Hot In The City #29 Flesh For Fantasy #36 White Wedding #37 Don't Need a Gun Although Mony Mony is clearly identified with him, I think a lot more fans think of Hot in the City or White Wedding (or Dancing With Myself) when they think Billy Idol than Eyes Without a Face or Sweet Sixteen. Good call here. Signature song would be either White Wedding, Dancing With Myself, or Rebel Yell.
