Leading into Supertramp's "Bloody Well Right" on 5/24/75, Casey noted that the flip side, "Dreamer", was a hit in Britain and Canada but for unknown reasons the record company decided to flip it for the US, and "may be wondering if they made the right decision" as the song seemed to be stalling at #35 (it went no higher.) Maybe they did guess wrong; in 1980 a live version of "Dreamer" was a bigger hit, reaching #15.

Or at least that was the story that circulated at the time.

I just sent them an e-mail; there probably won't be an answer right away since it's a holiday weekend, but I'll let you know as soon as I get a response. ETA: Just got an answer from their PD; they have indeed dropped the show. Well that's sad. Been listening to them since 2007. Their all-day "Saturday at the '70s" has always been terrific, and they were a reliable choice to play the early-'70s "B" show when the "A" was a 4-hour '78 or '79. Of course, 13 years is a long time, and WMGN is not a Classic Hits station; they're a Hot AC during the week. If you live in Illinois, you could get oldies station WVLI 92.7 FM in Kankakee, Illinois - It still carries Saturday afternoons AT40: The 70's followed by Saturday nights AT40: The 80's. Heck, it beats Wisconsin residents who miss hearing their weekly fix of AT40 70's/80's on Magic 98 (I sure miss the 2011-2013 and 2016-2019 years of WLS 94.7 FM Chicago carrying AT40: The 70's and for the last year of the WLS contract AT40: The 80's).

I have a hard time believing that Magic 98 dropped AT40 because of "repeated shows". Radio stations generally do not adhere to what the listener likes or dislikes whether it drops a specific program or changes it's format completely. I will miss the rebroadcast of the previous 70's show on Saturday mornings especially if you were away or out of town the previous week. For me, this is what sucks the most about this. I know that we have an on-demand option, but I don't trust that thing. I appreciate those broadcasts over the years and I will miss them.

Think of why WLIT 93.9 FM Chicago dropped American Top 10 AC after nine months in 2004.

I can't find anybody else that play's the "B" show. What is the "on-demand" option? I would appreciate some insight on this. TIA!

Not that it will make a difference, but there are already several "Don't drop AT40!" posts on WMGN's Facebook page

Sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner but the "On-Demand" option is WPAC. The links are in the "AT40 70's Current Stations List" thread. However, their 3hr window starts early and therefore ends a tad early.
