And I just got a Facebook message that Magic 98 WMGN did drop both AT40 programs.

That would be beyond absurd. Do the SJW's and Thought Police run *every* company now?! Unlike with Cosby, wasn't there ACTUAL evidence that Michael Jackson was a crimes-committing degenerate? So they'll be editing-out all of his hits from now on too, I assume. He hit the charts three or four times, I believe. i have no problems with premiere cutting out Little old man ,not beacause of bill cosby and his crimes- but because of it being an appaling song and it being a crime to call it music Fair enough. That said, just to play Devil's advocate... ...if we're going to bypass charted singles because they're appalling, and because defining them as "music" would be criminal (and would kill millions of precious brain cells), we'd have to delete 1/4 of all 1985 shows, half of all 1986 shows, 3/4 of all 1987 shows, and 90% of all 1988 shows.
...Which, actually, would be very cool to hear!

At #99 on the Hot 100 was the I Go Crazy by Paul Davis (it 40th and final week), setting the record for most weeks on the chart during a single chart run (at least up to that time).

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess - 6/8/74 2nd Guess - 6/5/71
There are a few possibilities next week, but 1974 seems to have the best odds. 6/8/74 last aired in 2014 as a 'B' show (strangely enough--it's one of the very few times so far that a show last played before the Larry Morgan era was offered as a 'B' show), but hasn't been played as an 'A' since 2008.

The record would stand until the week ending October 23, 1982, when Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" notched it's 41st week on the Hot 100. It would linger for two more weeks. Not sure how long "Tainted Love" held the record.

Anyone get the timing on that mini-version of "Dance With Me"? I'd guess a minute and a half to two minutes. "Every Kinda People" that followed wasn't much longer. The infamous '1978 edits'.

The original edits were brutal at times; I heard every 1978 show a couple of years ago. I can only imagine what Premiere has done with the latest re-broadcasts.

Surprisingly, the oft-chopped "Love Is Like Oxygen" clocked in at a respectable 3 1/2 minutes or so on today's show.

To paraphrase a then-recent Little River Band hit, help was on the way. The May 27, 1978 issue of Billboard contains an item on page 32 about AT40's forthcoming expansion to four hours. Quoting from it:

Interesting to note that both of next week's shows are in rotation on the 24 hour "AT40" channel from I-Heart Radio.
