I can think of one way this can be avoided, not that I have much confidence it will happen. They need to go with 1987 for Thanksgiving weekend.
And just in case you thought this show made bad chart choices, this week's 90s countdown featured a chart two weeks earlier than the current date. This was a five-time repeat, whereas the current week's chart would have been new.
With the way they've chosen the chart years this past year, there is a decent chance we could get 1987 that week. If not, I'm hoping it's a surefire bet they're waiting until December.
About the 90s chart, yeah that is a horrible choice. I'll never understand the decision behind choosing that one, unless of course they really like doing that one and sadly I don't think a whole lot of people besides us care.
