June 28, 1980 should be next week's show then. Sometimes they jump ahead, but it doesn't make sense to do so nearly a full week--so hopefully that means we don't get July 5, 1980 for the umpteenth time (though that chart at least was never counted down by Casey or even a guest host.) If I am allowed to quote Laura, "DON'T GIVE THEM ANY IDEAS!"

Either way, 1987 needs to wait. 7/11 or 7/18 won't be Premiere duplicates, since those were guest-hosted by CVD.

Do I even need to say what year they're doing next week?

Do I even need to say what year they're doing next week? Hardly. (If anyone needs a hint, it's the same year that Premiere also followed 1980 with this month.) Somebody at Sirius XM should be reminded that the 80s had more weekends centered near the Fourth of July than just July 5, 1980 and July 4, 1987. At least we didn't get the former this week.

This will be the third year in a row that we get to hear 7/4/87. The two years before that we heard 7/25/87. Also, in both 2022 and 2023 we heard 1987 in both July and August. Unless they plan to feature it again in 5 weeks or so, I'd prefer they wait until late September for the next one.

If they go in order, 1981 should follow 1987. Has 7-11-81 been overplayed?

At least 7/11/1981 is a chart you won't get from Premiere.

I haven't paid that much attention to it, but it looks like they're letting a lot of their On Demand shows expire. I was kind of planning on relistening to those in the future.

Next week it'll be all about 1984!
I'm going to go ahead and guess this means 1981 has been pushed to the next week?

Could be 7/7 or 7/14/84. I don't know which if either of those have been played by SXM and when, but I do know that 7/14 is one we don't get from Premiere.
Speaking of which, each of the last four years--and five of the last six--have had 7/4/87 from one of the two services: Premiere in 2019, 21, and 23 (each time as an A or standalone), and SXM in 2022 and 24.

It was last played by Premiere in 2017, so a decent choice this time around. I'll also point out that in the past twelve years, we've only heard the VJs play July 1984 three times total. Three of the four charts have been featured once each and next week will be the first repeat. Also, 7/4/87 was played by SiriusXM in 2023 as well as Premiere. I think maybe we've heard enough of that chart for a while...

Maybe SXM played 7/14 in 2017?

This means we have a 50/50 chance of them copying this week's Premiere. Hoping they don't do that year again two weeks after that like last year.
