Maybe after 89, they'll go back to the beginning of the decade for 1980 FINALLY!

Also the chart date could go either way, 6/10 or 6/17, since they started announcing the correct date again in March.

And while I'm glad that they won't be playing 1980 the same week as Premiere, there are no more "new" 1980 options until August, and we're only a few weeks away from the much-overplayed 7/5/80 chart.

Next week it'll be all about 1986! The date of the show is most definitely going to be 6-21-86.

They just don't want to do 1980! 6/21/86 is a new chart date so I'm not as upset about them skipping over 1980 yet again as I should. Nonetheless I'm hoping it's next week or else we'll get 7/5/80 yet again.

Next week it'll be all about 1989! At least this means we aren't getting A. a Premiere duplicate and B. 6/14/86 for the 90th time. I absolutely LOVE when this list of songs from the Summer of ‘89’ come up every year! The list is very long of “lost 80s hits”, and there is not one song from this period that I did not like. Happy and safe summer everyone!

Have they always lowered a song's volume when a VJ is talking and then turned it back up after they're done?

June 28, 1980 should be next week's show then. Sometimes they jump ahead, but it doesn't make sense to do so nearly a full week--so hopefully that means we don't get July 5, 1980 for the umpteenth time (though that chart at least was never counted down by Casey or even a guest host.)

July 5, 1980 was the weekend of the AT40 Book of Records special.

With 1980 next week, that leaves 1987 as the year that hasn't been done the longest, since the end of April. However, if they go in the same order as they've done over the past couple months, that could mean we get 7/4/87 yet again. 1982 and 1984 could be decent options while pushing 1987 to at least the second week of July.
