Since both 1/14/84 and 1/21/84 feature "The Curly Shuffle", either is worth a listen. Especially since that period of top 40 music is not generally populated with novelty songs.

It will probably be for the week of 1/14/84, but I wish they would do the week of 1/21/84 instead. That week one of my favorite Stevie Nicks singles, "Nightbird" debuted, and would only get into the mid 30's before dropping off. That song, the third from her "The Wild Heart" album never gets played on radio. It's actually 1/21/84. It's interesting how 80s on 8 is willing to go with a chart date several days ahead, while when 70s on 7 chooses Casey's AT40s they usually go for the earlier of two weeks even when the later date is closer.

I heard the intro to the #1 song, John Lennon's "Just Like Starting Over". Nina Blackwood says it was his first new music since 1975 but he wouldn't live to see it released. Um, yes he did see the music released, it's the album he signed for MDC!! I get that their research team is lame, but don't the VJ's have any knowledge of their own?

Another not AT40 flub. They said Ronnie Milsap has two #1 crossver hits. Huh? He never reached #1 pop. He did however have FIVE country #1s reach the pop top 40. Smoky Mountain Rain and Any Day Now are two #1 Adult Contemporary hits, though.

Was happy that they played the studio version of Smoky Mountain Rain and not the later recorded live version.

How does one get a job as a "proof reader" for the countdown? They can write up the script, it will get reviewed and corrected then they can do the show.

Smoky Mountain Rain and Any Day Now are two #1 Adult Contemporary hits, though. Correct, but this isn't the Big 40 A/C Countdown. If they had specified what you said, then it would have been fine. Sorry for my confusing comment. I totally agree.

Except for the Big 40 Countdown shown on their lineup during the weekend, this channel (SXM) plays the same songs over and over again. I probably think that this channel is worse than the 70s channel.
Why won't they expand their playlist and play these songs on the countdown in their regular rotation? It's been so slow...

2 big mistakes in this show. Kicking off at #40, Mark Goodman says "Games People Play" was the biggest hit ever for Alan Parson. Wrong, it topped out at 16. Later, Time hit 15, Eye in the Sky hit 3 and Don't Answer Me hit 15.
Later when talking about the musicians backing Fogelberg on Auld Lang Syne, Martha says the musicians would go on to form Toto. They had been making hit records for years before backing Fogelberg.

Next week's VJB40: 1980. They did the second weekend of February 1980 in both 2010 and 2012, but last year they used the Cashbox chart; this will presumably be from Billboard.

So, LVK finally got a prediction right. Thankfully, he didn't do his "as predicted" spiel. ;D

Next week's not AT40, as predicted 1982!! Which means it's still five months and counting since they last did 1988, the only year they haven't done in 2013. However, that's fine for next week as that year would have duplicated Premiere.

Next week's Casey lite; as predicted 1988! You know, you always say "as predicted" in this thread when you get a show prediction right, but when you get an XM prediction right like what you did with last weekend's show, you don't say "as predicted". You just like to rub it in our faces in this thread & not the XM thread?
