OMG, two minutes in and I think Casey lite has already screwed up; I think they said Tears was top 10 bound. It would peak at #37 two weeks after this chart!

Well, it was heading to the Top Ten......it just never got there! He said that it had "cracked" the top ten which is soooo not true. Heck, I don't even remember that song from way back when. I was into the whole MTV thing during that time.

Next week's not AT40; as predicted 1983! Seriously, do you have to say "as predicted" every time you get a prediction right? You just have to rub it in our faces, don't you?

Next week's Casey lite; Xmas songs of the 80s! If anyone could get me a copy of this show, I'd appreciate it. I have only been able to hear a little bit of it. Thanks.

They played pretty loose with the top 80's Christmas songs. They had songs from 1971 (Happy X-Mas - John Lennon) 1979 (Wonderful Christmastime - Paul McCartney), 1992 (Sleigh Ride - Debbie Gibson and It's Christmas All Over Again - Tom Petty) and 2000 (Silent Night - Stevie Nicks although they said it was from 1989) and those are just the ones I noticed.

Stevie Nicks recorded "Silent Night" in 1987 for the original "A Very Special Christmas" album, so that should count even if they played a re-recording. "Wonderful Christmastime" can perhaps count as a turn of the decade (1979-80) song. The others are questionable, but maybe a lot of people requested them and so they decided to play them anyway, dates aside.

They should have used the original Silent Night by Stevie Nicks, it's better than the live version used on the 2001 Very Special Christmas album. My guess is it was more of an 80's artists countdown. No surprise but they ended up playing the entire original Very Special Christmas album (except for the Alison Moyet track, the original Stevie Nicks track and the original Bon Jovi track, "Back Door Santa" which has since been dropped from the album anyhow).

It will probably be for the week of 1/14/84, but I wish they would do the week of 1/21/84 instead. That week one of my favorite Stevie Nicks singles, "Nightbird" debuted, and would only get into the mid 30's before dropping off. That song, the third from her "The Wild Heart" album never gets played on radio.
