That seems likely to happen. I was thinking because both 6/17 and 8/19 were played in 2019.

A special pushing 89 down would land on 9/2, not 8/26. 8/26 is the next stop on the Ten Weeks Train after 6/17.
8/19 only comes into play if they go less than 10 weeks for the next 89 for any reason.

Incidentally, for the later decades channels, this weekend's shows will be either June 15 or 22, 1991, and June 17, 2005.

^ June 18. (Or does 2K not use Billboard?)

^ June 18. (Or does 2K not use Billboard?) It does use the Hot 100, even if their date selection could get out there sometimes, like earlier this month. This month was just terrible. Outside of last week's new 1982 chart, the other three have been repeats from just a year or two ago (with 1985 this week it could go either way too). And still no 1980 in sight. And also still no mention of a possible July 4th special. Even if they do and 1980 ends up being the week after, there's still a chance of them going with 7/5 instead of 7/12 because of how the Friday date happens to fall this year. I gotta stop thinking so far ahead.

^ June 18. (Or does 2K not use Billboard?) All their countdowns, at least those regular ones from "this week in...", use the Billboard Hot 100. And yes, I misremembered the 2005 calendar. As it is, last week the 70s and 80s shows were both dated June 12 (1976 and 82) and this week's are from June 17 (1978 and 89), assuming what was previously announced about this weekend's Casey show being 1978 is true and they don't curveball us. Next week's 1985 show will include either all or most of the same songs as this week's Premiere B show, depending on if it's June 22 or 29. I'd rather they have waited another week or two for July 6, 1985, which at least isn't in the Premiere AT40 rotation (guest hosted), giving "Sussudio" its due.

To add insult to injury, that hasn't been done since 2012 here - whereas with June 22 or 29, it's as laura said: The choice is last year's airing or the one from 2 years ago. Either way, it will be a third time play.

The VJs normally go with the date closest to Friday, 6-25, so most likely 6-22-85. I think the rare exception was last October 9th when they went with 10-13-84 instead of 10-6-84. Have there been any other instances when they went that much into the future?

With another avoidance of 1980, I feel like we're being set up for a repeat of what happened with 1984 last fall, when that year was due in September (a month with several unaired charts), but they put it off four weeks so they could play 10/13/84 for the fourth time. That's exactly what will happen again if 1980 airs next after 1985.

Guess we're stuck in recent replay mode again. That is unless there will be a special, but I haven't heard any announcements about one. If there is one, it'll at least push 1980 back another week to 7/12.

Unfortunately the image is broken again. On the bright side, if it does end up being 1980 next week, there's a chance that 1986 will be after it, and 7/12 of that year hasn't been featured either.

This time, it's probably your browser. Last time it admittedly didn't render properly and it spat out a blank post, but this time I can see what I intended to post there.
