First thing I noticed, the shows sound really tight. Without the ads, it has a nice sound. For a second you instinctively think they are going to a comercial and then you hear Casey's voice again in the next segment. Really nice edits also.
This is truly a blast listening to these.
Shannon deserves a lot of credit for his remastering of these. GREAT job, man. Absolutely great!

Amen to that... I'm listening on AOL radio, which isn't great quality, and the shows still sound as good as or better than many of my own copies.

I'm listening to the show with XM player, sounds better than Winamp,XM should respect AT40's Top of the Hour jingles and the end on the show jingle too;it's not Dees' show.I just love Casey's AT40 shows as a whole, imo. Anyway, thanks a lot XM!

I'm listening right now ;D Currently they're playing 2/27/88... and so far, all that's been on this one is great songs ;D
I've got into the old AT40 shows ever since I started listening to AT40 Flashback on WMMX back in February, and this was a nice treat to hear such shows on XM ;D

I'm using Total Recorder which I purchased/downloaded from the internet today for $17. It's WELL worth it and records beautifully. However, I had to download LAME mp3 codec and figure out how to set the Total Recorder to it in order to go from a WAV file to mp3. It reduces 10 times. One show should be around 180 MB-not bad when you have a 30GB iPOD.

Jake, that not only means you can record the xm line in, but you can also record streams - AT10, AT20, AT40, and any other syndicated radio shows.
I cant say enough good about Total recorder... its WELL WORTH 1 bucks... its the best software I think Ive ever bought for my hobbies.. and the cheapest.

Agreed-a truly great purchase.
In addition, I may now go back and digitally re-do what I had done back in the 80's and early 90's. I would record snipets of each song in the year-end countdown and create a medley of the top 100 songs of the year, in order.

Hi All: This is Steven Camhi -- I am back after 3 years -- Glad to see Rob's board has all the action and I am enjoying reading old post. This is my first post in years. All this XM Hype got me going.
I have bragging rights - I was on the phone with Rob and we listened to the start of both shows 7-25-70 & 11-1-80 together. Shannon - you did a wonderful job!!!
It is good to be back and I plan on posting. Hello to old friends.

Anyone notice how AT 40 return to XM Marathon is the same weekend as when Casey left Aug 6, 1988?

I hope somone is compiling a list of each show, in order on both the 70s and 80s marathon. If so, it would be cool to see how many shows played this weekend were flash back shows a few years ago. I know that the first show to play on the 80s was -- 11-1-80

I compiled the rundown & overall scorecard from the last XM broadcast back in 2002. Back then, its much easier, since its just one channel doing the marathon.
With 2 channels doing back to back Casey - a rundown would really be overwhelming. My dvr’s are working overtime recording both channels so I will try to post them later in the week. That's 100 hours marathon!
So far no mistakes or bloopers (crossing fingers!).
My only complaint is the abrupt deletion or cross fading of many Jingles & Themes especially on the Top of the hour and the final hour.
Why can't they just respect those precious Jingles & Themes!
