based on what Bruce Kelly said last year, there will be no guest hosted or Shadoe shows.

Probably not, at least from what I have heard as it applies to the present. The publicity for AT40 on XM is directed totally at Casey shows therefore Shadoe shows are not part of the package. Based upon Premiere's thinking as far as the trading issue is concerned and this may well extend to broadcast as well, they do little or nothing to counter the trading and sale of Shadoe shows whereas they ban most of us from selling Casey shows from Jul 1979 to Aug 6 1988. That's not to say that things cannot change and that an arrangement may be made somewhere down the line to broadcast Shadoe shows but from the standpoint of how things are now, there are no plans to broadcast them.
As for YE and special shows broadcast by Casey, there may be some possibility of these--we'll just have to wait and see what XM does.

No decision has been made on the Shadoe Stevens shows. The crux of the matter for the late 80's and 90's is that Clear Channel/Premiere is also the rights holder for Casey's Top 40 which competed on Westwood One at the time. Which one do you air??
As a side note, a little known fact (it is public though) is that Premiere owns a significant portion of XM Radio. Thus, it is in Premiere's interest for the promotion and success of XM.
Back to the 90's, all I can say at this point (because it's all I know LOL) is that I am restoring Casey's Top 40 AND Shadoe Stevens AT40 shows for the late 80's and 90's.
For what it's worth, as far as guest hosts, specials, year ends and the like...I am restoring and have been asked for all of those as well.
For those that were looking for my email address, it's charismusicgroup@aol.com
Thanks! Shannon

p.s. based on the track record of experience I had with Bruce Kelly and what was said would happen, promises that were never delivered on and what actually happened....I'd pretty much dismiss anything he said one way or the other...

Shannon If I were XM and had the choice to run either Shadoe or Casey's shows in the 90's I would (sorry Jeffster) run Casey's. He's the one most people are familiar with and chances are his show was broadcast in the persons market.

Hello everyone. I am new to this site but not new whatsoever to AT40. (message on your "first time"). I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of At40 to XM Radio, which I will subscribe to online only. I recently ordered and received the Billboard Hot 100 Charts: The Eighties so following the charts with the book will be a major flashback. Glad I was able to find out this information through this site. Thanks!

As much as I am a fan of Shadoe's, I'd still have to agree with the above. From a business standpoint, more people would listen to Casey than Shadoe, IMHO.

It most certainly will help Premiere and XM as they are 1 in the same to some extent?!? sorta. You can count me now as a 'new subscriber' and I'm sure quite a few others on this board an other boards (thanks for granting me access to this board also) will also become subs. I was only mildly interested in XM when it launched and that was only because I thought the 'kiss' channel was actually 'kiis fm' Los Angeles. Once I learned the truth, I was defintly no longer intersted. I guess I have a completly different view on satelite radio, maybe I'm alone on this issue, but I've always thought, wouldn't it be cool if I could listen to Z100 NY & KIIS fm LA at the same time!!! After all satelite TV provides distant TV stations (to some ppl in certain circumstances, like me). Perhaps its silly of me to want to listen to terrestial radio via sattelite but even before XM I used to dream about somehow uploading Z100s signal to a sat and listening to it from home, in dc, or anywhere. But back to the issue at hand, now that a Casey is on XM, it gives me a reason to at last become a subscriber. Sure I'd love to listen to 80s music or an 80s station, but I have almost every 80s song, all I'd hafta do is make myself a tape or cd. Which I've done. Allthough it would be nice to listen to NFL games.....How stupid of Xm to not even think of that? Allthough i did hear theres a possibilty that XM & sirius could merge, but I think I also heard that idea was nixxed? *shrug*

Shads, through internet streaming you can kind of do that now... for free. You can also pay (what is a good price) about 18 bucks and get the Total Recorder software and you can even record the streams. Ive had great success doing this kind of thing. Many others on this site have as well.

Does anyone know anything about opD2D software? I downloaded it in hopes to record audio from XM but I think there are licensing issues that prevent us from recording from XM. Am I mistaken?

xmradio.com/caseykasem/index.jsp?refsrc=homepage_bb3After the marathon weekend the shows will air: 70s every Sat. at Noon ET & Weds. 10PM ET 80s every Sun. at 10AM ET & Thurs. 10PM ET That’s the schedule according to the XM banner Ad it might be incorrect as the 80’s DJ keeps on announcing that the weekly show starts Sun Noon ET on 80s on 8? This one makes more sense, same time but on a different day 70s every Sat. at Noon ET & Weds. 10PM ET 80s every Sun. at Noon ET & Thurs. 10PM ET Another thing, I just heard that 70’s channel has moved up the start of the marathon, its now 10 ET /7 PT by 2 hours late …oh well better delayed than never… While the 80’s channel is still announcing 8 ET / 5 PT , same as originally announced!

The guy on the 70's channel just said a sneak preview of an upcoming show in 1 hour, which leads me to beieve the show will start on the 70's at 8pm also.
