Does any of you know what is the quality and format of XM stream online? (I will go for a 3 day offer, so I don't want to spend any time for trying the stream before Friday)
I've seen they got one... is is possible they will be broadcasting the marathon on the stream as well?
Do you (by now) know more exact time when the marathon runs on XM this weekend?

XM radio online stream at 64 K only, so much is to be desired. They recommend Broadband (Cable or DSL) connection.
Make sure you have it set to "High" quality. There is nothing "High" about it , just the name they gave it. A 64k stream is horrible for music. Until they upgrade their stream to at least 96k, or better yet.. 128k, we are stuck listening to music in a tin can.
On the bottom right hand corner of the xm online screen click 'SETTINGS' that will bring to a screen with a bandwidth adjustment option.
You can logged in for a free trial as long as you have a confirmed (ahem, multiple!) email address (hint, hint!) so don’t be afraid to try it!
XM Radio Online is available to both PC and Mac users. Different system configurations will yield different results. We recommend the following system configurations: PC: Internet Connection: Broadband Processor: Pentium III 1 GHz Memory: Minimum 256 MB RAM, minimum 64 MB Video RAM Operating System: Windows XP Sound: Soundcard w/ speakers or headphones Additional Software: Windows Media Player 10, Flash 7 Browser Compatibility: Internet Explorer 6+, Firefox 1.0+, Netscape 7+ (Opera not supported); cookies must be enabled
Mac: Internet Connection: Broadband Processor: PowerPC G3 processor or higher recommended Memory: 128 megabytes (MB) or higher, 64 MB Video RAM Operating System: OS X Sound: Soundcard w/ speakers or headphones Additional Software: Windows Media® Components for Quicktime, Flash 7 Browser Compatibility: Firefox 1.0 or later; cookies must be enabled

It marathon starts --- Friday 8PM EST / 5PM PST----- The Regular Show for the 80's Channel airs twice a week: SUN 12 noon EST / 9 PST THU 10 PM EST / 7 PST Anybody has the 70's weekly schedules? I checked my dvd recording this morning and the promos is newly voiced by Casey, himself. washingtontimes.com/business/20060627-093905-1607r.htmThe link to Washington Times shows the 70's channel edging the 80's channel in listeners. So I guess, its 70's for me then. Total number of XM Radio Listeners* - 13.6 million XM's The '70s - 2.1 million listeners XM's The '80s - 1.9 million listeners XM's 20-on-20 - 1.8 million listeners

Thanks Alfred for all the info and hints. I guess the tincan format will have to be good enough! ...as there's no chance for me to get XM - overhere in Sweden In case you get further info about the marathon start-times, please post it here, I'd really appreciate it. Cheers.

Its official, and here's all the info you need from xmradio.com ;D
Casey Kasem Marathon Countdown Friday, August 4 at 8PM ET through Sunday August 6 at Midnight ET 70s - XM 7 & 80s - XM 8
Do you remember waking up and knowing it was Sunday morning because you would roll over, push the on button on your radio and there was Casey Kasem saying; "Now, on with the countdown". Where was your favorite song going to end up? Did Madonna make it to number one again? Casey Kasem's American Top 40, all the original countdowns from the 70s and 80s return to the air on XM, only this time with no commercials. "Keep Your Feet on the Ground and Keep Reaching For the Stars".
After the marathon weekend the shows will air:
70s every Sat. at Noon ET & Weds. 10PM ET 80s every Sun. at 10AM ET & Thurs. 10PM ET

I just received email conformation from Rick Stacy, program director of the "80s on 8." The AT40 shows will not be cut to 30 or anything like that... they will be Top 40.
Thats great news.

I closed my previous message too fast. The XM staff is really pumped about this launch and are excited as we are about the airing. I think all of the questions I've seen floating about have been answered by others. The marathon begins this Friday night thru Sunday night. If any of you have cue sheets and want to help, go to www.dvds2remember.com/calendar.htm and you can see where the holes are. Any dates that DO NOT have a hyperlink means we do not have cue sheets. XM HAS to have the cue sheets for the shows. A lot of you have been helping and that is GREATLY appreciated! I just finished a chunk (pretty much all of January thru July of 1975). I'm excited that the 80's shows will be uncut (other than ads) so that nothing show related is axed. For all of you that have been supplying me with tapes, shows, cues, etc.....a HUGE thank you. This has been a group effort and I'd list names but refrain from doing so at the risk of possibly forgetting one and forgetting someone is the last thing I'd want to do. I believe this will create a renewal of interest in these programs from a whole new generation of listeners.

I hope this isnt a stupid question, but cant missing cue sheets be created manually? Just curious..... and what do you think about trying to convince XM 10 America to air old American Country Countdown shows from the 80s or something? Ok, I know.. thats asking too much. Ill just sit tightly and be happy with AT40 on XM for now.

I have already done it for quite a few shows and if they exist already, I'm trying to avoid having to do the manual entry. And as far as old ACC shows, I recommend hitting up the PD's of those channels and letting them know. You don't get what you don't ask for.

My guess is that the first two AT40 shows that get played:
70s channel: the first show, dated July 4, 1970 80s channel: the last show Casey hosted, dated August 6, 1988 ;D
