I also find it an interesting bit of trivia that both the first and last shows' countdowns differed from the actual Billboard charts published those weeks. The first show (July 4, 1970) used the top 40 portion of the following week's Hot 100 while the last show (January 28, 1995) was a week behind, using the previous week's Top 40 Mainstream chart.
