Just recently, I remember hearing somewhere that Casey's hiatus from voicing Shaggy had to do with vegeterianism. That Casey didn't want to continue the voicework as long as Shaggy wasn't a vegetarian. Apparently the shows creators didn't agree at the time and Casey stopped doing it.
He resumed doing voices for the show when they changed Shaggy's character from what I heard. Now apparently he doesn't eat meat. I don't remember the source and don't know if it's correct.

I am close to having every AT40 with Casey.
Scott from this site is directly responsible for starting my collection of Casey shows. He's indirectly responsible for WQMA due to my obsessively collecting radio shows.

They haven't announced the new host yet. There are a handful of people that have been leaked as being in the running. One has ties to being an ex-DJ on an old favorite station of mine, and he's Todd Newton! But I don't hear his name mentioned as often as others. He currently is the host of the Price is Right Vegas edition that they do for the casinos there.
And they already had a retrospective like event in primetime that aired a number of clips and celebrated Bob Barker. I recorded this on DVD complete with commericals. Let me know if you need it and I'll send you off a copy. (I will ask you to help me out with something in exchange but it's free...)
Let me know!

He's looking better. Do you remember in the reviews from last years show how most reviewers mentioned that he probably didn't have use of one arm, etc? You did notice how he/they went well out of their way this year to note the mobility in both arms whenever Dick was on camera.
Like Ryan Seacrest said in one of the preshow interviews, the desire to do the yearly show is probably some incentive to him to get better which is great.
One plus I will give Ryan whether he's responsible for it or not, the show also seems to be doing better at staying relevant to todays culture since they added Seacrest. The live musical guest in NYC is a great addition (now they just need to do the same for the west coast portion - what's up with the yearly fake pretaped party?) Either way, the fresh headlining acts mean that KC & The Sunshine Band just might be out of a New Years gig permanently and frankly it's about time.
I do wish that he would've been a little more involved this last year. I thought he was a little too involved the year prior, and he was better this year.
The ratings are also great from both previous years. Dick is still bringing in more than the other networks combined.
I wonder if anyone has thought of this... but when the inevitable happens and he is no longer hosting the show at all, and the torch is officially passed to Ryan and positioned even more for a young audience, it would be great if some cable network like VH1 or E! or someone could rerun prior years of Clark's show on New Years Eve like Premiere is rerunning AT40 Flashback... maybe mix the musical acts, and Clark highlights with some brief live footage from present-day Times Square...
From about 30 years of shows, there are plenty of moments to choose from to supply programming for an evening for cable.

John Ordrasik is the guest host for this upcoming weekends AT10 show. I understand he also is guest hosting AT20. I haven't heard the show yet so I can't say anything about how it sounds. We play the AT10 show Saturday at 8am central at www.q1520radio.com

Hey all,
Just received a memo from Premiere. This will help end some speculation on the boards here.
For the first year ever, on Nov 18/19 and Nov 25/26, they will be sending out a regular chart show, AND a Christmas show to stations for AT10.
Beginning Dec 2nd, the show will be available with Christmas music only. The memo states that if stations don't want to play Christmas music at this time, they will make AT20 available to those AT10 stations.
I don't know how other stations will handle it, but I think we'll stay with the regular chart shows in November, and save the optional Christmas ones to playback Christmas Day.

Next week, it's Christmas or AT20 for AT10 stations. WQMA will go Christmas.
I really appreciate the way it was handled this year.

Dr. D is a great show with a loyal audience and we enjoyed being peoples only source for the show. Unfortunately, the syndicator got very strict with us and told us to cease and desist streaming. They briefly stopped sending us the shows until we complied and agreed to a new contract with this as a provision.
As a result, we can no longer stream that show. Sorry.

WQMA will be airing the scheduled AT10 program every week. The high quality mp3PRO stream sounds very good. Lots of other good national shows there all weekend too. Dick Bartley's American Gold, Mike Harvey's SuperGold, Dick Clark's Rock Roll & Remember, etc. www.q1520radio.com

I just heard this thanks to a friend that got me curious about it after he listened and shared his thoughts in an email (Hi Larry!)
The entire segment is about 30 minutes with commercials taken out. There is a phone-in segment from listeners and Casey was given a lot of praise throughout from both the listeners and George Noory. Long distance dedications, the new CD, and his cartoon voiceover work are highlights of the appearance. His wife was a guest as well and spoke of her crib business.
Casey sounds either a) very tired due to the time slot this program is produced, or b) older compared to previous interviews I've heard him do. Probably it's tiredness since we are hearing him weekly on AT10/AT20.
Maybe send me a PM if you'd like to hear. I might be able to help.

I don't really know for sure who syndicates this show. I think it's MG Kelly but like I said, I'm not 100% sure. I checked and I last inquired about it back in 2004. His reply was that there was a market conflict. I don't know with whom. As far as I know, it's not aired locally.
I've emailed Charlie Tuna from the link at his website earlier today. No reply yet.

Scott,
I agree with you there. And, in an affiliate numbers game, it just looks better for the show. It can be viewed as positive promotion for the show even if they aren't receiving much of an income from the national spots. Like with Premiere boasting that AT40 is on 400 stations. And if they can't even recover the cost of distribution from 24 minutes of commercial inventory per week, something a couple of companies have mentioned to me in the past, maybe they are doing something wrong.
The companies that we have the hardest time with seem to have shows that could be viewed as unsuccessful in terms of numbers of stations they are on, etc. In my opinion, they should reexamine their policies and model them after more successful syndication operators like Premiere, Westwood One, or United Stations.
