I have not heard any Luther Vandross song on any HAC station lately. I do listen to quite a wide variety of them. I guess this artist ( or do I have to say his music ) is currently not playable on a HAC outlet.

In Canada it's "BOB"-FM. They killed the legendary KOOL-FM for playing somewhat ever the whole day long. I wonder what strange people are making radio today. And I wonder what more strange people are listening to radio these days.

I'm kinda leaning toward the exclusivity rule. Casey was 'missing' from DC from '92 till somewhere around the new millenium. I'm not sure exactly when WASH fm picked up (what is NOW called) AT-10 but I know that WASH allso aired the flashback series. Casey's HOT-AC show has never been aired on a DC station, & once Ryan took over, AT40 returned to dc. However, there are 'other' stations which are officially in smaller markets but still get Arbitron ratings in DC which carry AT20. Everyone basically once a piece of the DC Advertising dollar so the fringe markets re-position their towers, boost their signals, etc. to reach the dc area. There are 2 stations, WINC in Winchester VA & WBQB in Fredricksburg VA, which both air AT20 on Sunday mornings and they come in very well around here. So if you've got a radio station, change your city of license and then you can carry Casey shows In other words: This confirms there is an existing market exclusivity for Casey Kasem programmes. Something wich we don't have for Classic AT40 in the 80s, wich multiples the number of total affiliates back in the old days.

I know this was discussed out here quite alot of times. But as I always stated: There IS a market exclusivity for Casey's shows, even after the WW1 era. It doesn't count if this happens officially or not. There may be a specific model for selected markets ( like Cinci ), but usually you will find only ONE of Casey's shows in ONE market.
Belong to that, I do have my problems with comparing the "very succesful" performance of today's AT40 with the shows from 4 years ago. If you won't let it sell anywhere, you can't make that number of stations than it has todate.

I like the one letter a week format too. It gives it more of a special feature feel as opposed to the two or three they used to do when it seemed to be just another ho hum part of the show with the same songs being used over and over. Like "Wind beneath my Wings" or some like that I can recall I've seen or heard a survey that this was or still is the most requested song for RND's/LDD's .......

I wonder why they decided to bring a musical act on board to guest host the show. We all know how that went with Hall & Oates 21 years ago. Hopefully he will do a great job, I will go into listening with open ears. I wonder if this was a planned week off for Casey. Why not a planned week You think Five for Fighting was hanging out at Premiere to see what work he can do ? Please no new rumours about Casey .... it sucks !!!

Isn't it strange ? We got only 30 songs here on the YE survey, but a handful of them was still not heard on the weekly surveys. It always surprises me that AC radio will need that less songs on heavy rotation for a full year ...... Oh I forgot the Adult Contemporary year has only 10 months ;-) OK, but still very less songs in quite a long time.

A Big Thanks to Jason for these inside informations. Great ! And FINALLY Premiere has learned from their mistakes over the past view years on behalf of that early Christmas programmings. Not the whole World is Clear Channel, so not all will do Christmas in November. My calendar says it's on December 24/25 ....... I know that lots of stations has troubles in recent years with not getting a regular show from the beginning of November on to early January. As a result of that, some stations broke with the show and took it off the airwaves.

Next week, it's Christmas or AT20 for AT10 stations. WQMA will go Christmas. I really appreciate the way it was handled this year. Jason The same for me Jason. It seems they have learned from their mistakes of last year and partial in 2004. I believe it is absolutely OK to go Christmas in December, but not in November.

I'm sure by next weekend all the Clear Channel A/C stations will flip to the Xmas music. Thus, all those Clear Channel stations that air AT10, will start airing the AT10 rerun Xmas shows starting next weekend. (Nov. 18-19). Here are the stations that are not owned by Clear Channel and most likely will air the normal AT10 shows for Novemeber 18-19 and November 25-26. These stations webcast. WQMA Saturday 9a-Noon WMRS Saturday 10a-1p WLHT Sunday 9a-Noon Montreal Q92 CFQR Sunday 9a-Noon Quite a small list. I'm sure there is a valuable list of non ClearChannel stations with no Christmas Music in November. The majority of the panel does no webcast.

Casey also thanked Ed McMann for flying the all way from Boston for doing the countdown last week. Casey said this on the October 17/18, 1998 AT40 show. Ed McMann filled in for the October 10/11, 1998 show. He also thanked Steve Streit several weeks later ..... as he did almost every time in the 70's and 80's era of AT40, after a guesthosted week. But that wasn't the question: The question was when he thanked the guesthost the last time ...... that was in 2002 after 2 weeks of sickness with GH McMann
