I recall Casey promoting Rob Durkee's book twice on AT40. Don't remember if on both occasions he used the same story, but my notes say that he mentions Shadoe's name during the May 13, 2000 show. It seems you're this weeks Number One ...... I haven't caught the fact it was also along with the May 13, 2000 show. Can you tell me what segment it was in the show ? I have to digg out this programme from the archive.

And it was only the SECOND TIME Casey has ever taken Shadoe's name in his mouth during the show. Who remembers the first time ? Eventually Scott Lakefield holds back the answer for a while to give the others a chance .....

To be exact: Casey did it only once before during his frequent absent weeks between 89 and 2004, when he was out for 2 weeks in a row in March of 2002. Remember the speculations out here about Casey's health and the future of his shows ?
I really enjoyed Casey's praise for Charlie; This gives the show really an additional human warmth along with Casey's great work. And it shows the special friendship with Charlie Tuna for decades. Very ironic it took more than 3 decades to get Charlie finally in for Casey after all these years with many different guesthosts. A result of the "good sides" from the whole Clear Channel thing, since both of them work for the same company right now.

I'm sure Premiere Radio will rerun the same Christmas shows from 2004 that they re-ran in 2005 for AT10 this year. I'm OK with that, as long as they produce an alternate programming for non christmas stations. Hopefully they will do, since the number of AT10 affiliates has grown during 2006. This year they can use the 2005 Xmas shows 1:1, since there is no change in segments and commercial break. Last year they had to re-record a few parts for the new programme clock.

Hey Guys, I know lots of you just melt in the summer heat ..... But I'd like to remind you that in just 3 short months ( in words THREE ) the Christmas madness starts again on AT10.
So until soon: MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY !!
Is it just me, or has someone that same feeling that it was just yesterday when AT10 finally returned to normal business ?

For the very first time since the time before the Christmas-overkill started last fall on AT10, Casey mentioned affiliate stations on this weekends show. Will be interesting if this will be a routine again, or just a very rare feature. My guess is - you out there .... and me too - forced the staff to re-invent this feature on the show. We have to look out for AT20 as well later on this weekend.

They don't air in Miami or Jackso.....well nevermind, among major markets in Florida they don't air in Miami. [/quote]
I don't know about the situation in Jacksonville, but you may have an AT20 affiliate in Miami. Maybe that's the reason why you don't have AT10 on air.

I'll ask again, as I did for AT20...is this really all of them? Not a good sign. Remember though, this is only the Top 100 markets, not 101-whatever # of markets that exist. And Remember: Of those, only the ones who report to MEDIABASE 24/7, not the ones used for BDS or others ...... I'm completely unhappy with that "unoffical" station list out here. It shines on things in a false light and shows only one side of the coin.

If you want a good Sunday afternoon stream, Majic100 out of Ottawa streams AT10 from 3pm-6pm eastern. The only question is: What is "good" on a 32 kbit Windows Media Stream ? Not really ! Others than that, MAJIC 100 often screws up the show, sometimes mixing sements together, sometimes just play the songs from the show, not Casey's talking. Last but not least, they use massive commercial blocks during the show, since several internal changes happened earlier this year. Rarely they play the optional extra segments, sometimes one, sometimes none .

Is it just me, or was this past weekends AT10 show the definitive best one in 8 weeks ? Man, I'm so tired about this christmas overkill ..... Hopefully they have learned on their mistakes and will offer their stations a second choice on this years christmas season. I'm not sure AT10 would survive another christmas music overkill again.
I've never been very exited on the AT10 format; Liked the AT20 AC show much more. But this weekend I was very happy to listen to this crude mixture of oldies and new songs. Even another strange topic of "married couples" in the spotlight doesn't bother, as long I don't have to listen to "The most wonderful time of the year" and things like that.

Hopefully next year they will concentrate their work on making a second choice for non christmas affiliates, instead of editing around old christmas programmes. Take 'em like they are. They don't need any editing anymore, because it's all the same every weekend. This year it might happened due to the segment changes effictive in 2005, but isn't there any room to make a substitute show ? If AT10 will still be around next year, I hope Premiere learned from their mistakes in 2005. Because what they did over the past 2 months is not really a buster for getting and holding AT10 affiliates.

Picture this: More than 3 weeks until Christmas and 4 more AT10 Christmas shows to go .... And I'm already tired of hearing them ..... after 3 (!!) weekends in November (!!) with all X-mas AT10's. I guess these coming weekends will be the first time in decades (!!) I will not tune into one of Casey's available shows. I was wondering if Premiere will recognize their IMO really big mistake on this years pre-christmas season I believe they made a really big damage on Casey's market presence.

A choice of shows at least until Thanksgiving weekend is all they really need. So that's what -- two extra AT10 shows to do a year? I'm sure Casey would be glad to do it. They can have it even more simple .... and cheaper. There is no need to produce extra shows for the month of November. For the Christmas stations they have a wide variety of X-Mas shows from the past 2 years for a re-broadcast. The Christmas Music is timeless, as the christmas shows are too. Premiere just has to produce their regular AT10 AC show and give other stations the option to choice the download of the programme they want to air. That simple it could be !

it is still possible they might air the christmas shows when it's not....you know....over a month away! One of the things which could be bothersome, if the station that reran Leeza's show decides this whole Christmastime deal is more trouble than it's worth, they may just drop the show altogether. You're right Paul. What they do this year (again) is the absolute killer for about half of their affiliates. With that early Christmas in November, the show is unplayable for many many outlets. A very simple but helpful idea would be the rebroadcast of Christmas shows from last year, at least for the November weekends, on those stations who have gone already all X-mas now. Give the others a chance to stay with the programme and pull out an all new AT10 show ..... Maybe they learn about this when they lose a massive number of stations over the holiday season. MAJIC 100 in Ottawa did an edited version of the AT20 yesterday, because they can't play several songs within this countdown. I have talked to the PD and they told me it really is a problem for their station. Most canadian (AC) stations are not going all christmas before December, some not before the second weekend of December ...... wich seems to be only natural and "normal" ..... because it's not Christmas in November, except for Clear Channel.

@paul .... but why are you "re-running" all these old historic topics on this board yesterday ? Do you get paid for the number of postings out here ? Just wondering .... since I can't see a clear need to bring up some of these very old topics from the beginning of the year. Don't get me wrong, I was just wondering WHY this happens .......
