WPNC's Top 100 of 1983 this morning missed playing a segment right before 10AM. The last segment of the 4th hour was skipped (#'s 52-51) and they started the next hour about 8 minutes early.

Here's my lame attempt at a Michigan Top 40. No actual numeric processing was put to this, it's just my favorite Top 40 songs by artists who were born in, grew up in, or groups formed in Michigan.
Respect - Aretha Franklin Superstition - Stevie Wonder Love is Like an Itching in my Heart - Supremes Papa Was a Rolling Stone - Temptations Upside Down - Diana Ross Rock Around the Clock - Bill Haley and his Comets School's Out - Alice Cooper I Can't Help Myself - Four Tops Fire Lake - Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band I Just Want to Celebrate - Rare Earth Oh Sheila - Ready for the World Spy (In The House of Love) - Was (Not Was) Smugglers Blues- Glenn Frey Devil's Gun- C. J. & Company Follow Me - Uncle Kracker Stumblin' In - Suzi Quatro Like a Prayer - Madonna Without Me - Eminem You Can't Change That- Ray Parker, Jr. and Raydio My Guy - Mary Wells Talking in your Sleep - The Romantics Runaway - Del Shannon Smokin' in the Boys' Room - Brownsville Station Someday Someway - Marshall Crenshaw Hanky Panky - Tommy James and the Shondells 96 Tears - ? And The Mysterians She's a Bad Mamma Jamma - Carl Carlton (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher - Jackie Wilson Shop Around - The Miracles Just to See Her - Smokey Robinson Somebody's Watching Me - Rockwell Rubber Band Man - Spinners Icky Thump - White Stripes Good as Hell - Lizzo Candy - Iggy Pop Cat Scratch Fever - Ted Nugent Who's Johnny - El DeBarge Fish Ain't Bitin' - Lamont Dozier Do You Love Me? - The Contours All Summer Long - Kid Rock
(Marvin Gaye was born in D. C. and lived there until he was 21 so I didn't count him, otherwise I'd have had Got to Give It Up in my Top 10)
EDIT: Sorry DeBarge, Casey just informed me that C. J. and Co. are from Detroit and I can't leave that dirty Devil's Gun bass line out.

Currently on WPNC is the top 40 of 1968-73 countdown, originally aired April 7, 1973 and never officially played by Premiere.
Now they’re doing the Top Acts of 1967-72, from September 30, 1972.

Looks like WPNC is playing songs # 13-# 10 from Hour 3 of "AT 40 Goes To The Movies"-Perhaps there was a slight glitch.

I've been enjoying the WPNC marathon this week but I don't really need to hear the ice cream shop ad anymore....

Looks like WPNC is playing songs # 13-# 10 from Hour 3 of "AT 40 Goes To The Movies"-Perhaps there was a slight glitch. They were played after the 3rd optional extra and before songs 2 and 1. The same thing happened earlier this week.

I was listening to the "Beatle Years" special last night on WPNC & didn't hear Larry Morgan's usual intro:"And now Premiere Networks proudly presents Casey Kasem's "American Top 40-The 70's"-Is there a reason for that?

It is indeed one of the specials that Premiere has not yet done - and ultimately may not do at all?

Premiere has never officially offered it. Were there optional extras for the 1978 soundtrack songs special, that Premiere authorized for some stations but didn’t make an official option?
