KQMA has started early today with 4th of July specials and is running the Bicentennial countdown from 7-4-1976 right now currently at the end of the first hour - 1949: currently Riders in the sky - Vaughn Monroe playing The Top 40 hits of the Beatles played after that.
Yep - seems they are playing Casey 24/7 today - now from 1974: Top acts of the 1970 so far

WPNC just played the Bicentennial show; it's never been officially scheduled by Premiere, even as a B, but it did have optional extras introed by Larry Morgan, they being the July 4 #1's from 1977 (the Rocky theme "Gonna Fly Now"), 1978 ("Shadow Dancing"), and 1979 ("Ring My Bell").
One uncorrected error from the original show is that in the second record, from 1938, Casey announced Ozzie Nelson's "Says My Heart", but actually played the B-side, an instrumental called "Whoa Babe". Casey mentioned Harriet as the "girl singer" but we don't hear her.
And at the end Casey said "we'll get back in stride" the following week with the regular weekly top 40, which of course was Premiere's regular offering for this week.

If I'm not mistaken, all the July 4 weekend special shows were officially offered by Premiere in both 2020 and 2021, with the optional extras introduced by Larry Morgan. I got the Bicentennial show last year with all the optional extras you mentioned.

Back in 2016 WTOJ/Ken Martin played the Bicentennial Special (sans extras), and provided the 40 year update of his own with the 4th of July #1s from 1977 to 2016... although I think he went with 'Undercover Angel' as the 1977 #1.

That was technically the number one song that day, as it was #1 on the July 9 chart, which was for the week ending that date, meaning that it was #1 on July 4. On the 20th anniversary special, when they played a montage of the July 4 #1 songs for the past 20 years, "Undercover Angel" was the 1977 song. I would love to hear that Ken Martin version of the show again, but I remember reading somewhere that it was strictly a one-time deal. Oh well...

WPNC is in the second day of their weeklong "AT40" marathon-They're airing the "Book Of Records" special from 1980. Yes indeed. To re-iterate, the schedule for today is: July 5 6a - 10a - Top 40 Book Of Records 10a - 1p - Top 40 Disappearing Acts 1p - 9p - Top 100 of 1979 9p - Midnight - Top 40 Acts of the 70's Glad that I've heard both of the AT40: The 90s shows this week. While it's true that I'm on vacation this week, I don't want to stay glued to the radio all week. The show that I'm most interested in hearing is the one from June, 2000 (not sure what date it is - Ken Martin has it listed as June 6, but that can't be right, as that date was a Tuesday - I'm assuming it's June 10). In any case, that will replace me listening to the AT40: The 80s, as it is in the same Friday time slot. I might also listen to the Top 40 of 1999 tomorrow at 10 as well - and if I'm feeling extra ambitious, I just might critique that show! Speaking of which, my critique for the 2000 show might be a little slow going, as I have to come up with comments for that song, post-2015 style. Yes, I could easily do one with comments like "Good song", "Great song", "It's alright", "No. Just no" and so forth, but come on - that would be kind of boring, don'tcha think?
