Vicki Lawrence (Carol Burnett Show/Mama's Family) Janet Jackson (Good Times/Fame) Would Fame and The Carol Burnett Show be considered sitcoms? I'd call them more a drama show and a variety show. Those aren't the two I had in mind. But good guesses.

Vicki Lawrence (Carol Burnett Show/Mama's Family) Janet Jackson (Good Times/Fame) "The Carol Burnett Show" was a variety show with comedy skits, not a 'sitcom'. Janet Jackson had at best small supporting roles on both "Good Times" and "Fame". I've got one, and she goes way back: Shelly Fabares, "The Donna Reed Show" and "Coach". She hit #1 in 1962 with "Johnny Angel", when she was Mary Stone on "Donna Reed".

Who are the only two women who have each had both a starring role in two different sitcoms, and had at least one #1 single on the Hot 100? Would Telma Hopkins (Bosom Buddies/Gimme A Break) count? Can't believe I missed Shelley Fabares!

Can't believe I missed Shelley Fabares! You know, it definitely could, as a member of Tony Orlando and Dawn! But that's not the other one I had in mind...guess I should alter the question to say two female solo acts

Paul McCartney was one, I'm fairly sure I remember Casey mentioning that - solo hits, duets (Linda McCartney/Stevie Wonder/Michael Jackson), trio (Wings), quartet (do I even need to say?) and quintet (the aforementined Beatles teamed with Billy Preston).

Yeah that's one of them' the more obvious of the two. You can even get there more than one way. Various duo combos, as you noted. Also, in addition to "Get Back" with Preston, Wings was a quintet for some of their Top 40 hits.

Janet Jackson had at best small supporting roles on both "Good Times" and "Fame". Jackson was definitely a cast member of "Good Times" as her name was in the opening credits. She also appeared on the sitcom "Diff'rent Strokes" but she only made guest appearances there.
