the only "issue" I guess I have with airing it on the weekend is it would take 10 years to hear every show. I wish there were a way to not piss everyone off and have the show run like a synidcated rerun does...well, at least the way they did when I was growing up...Monday-Friday at a designated time. I didn't have XM back when AT40 was run the first time, wasn't it run twice a day after that Casey Christmas or whatever they called it?
I am just wondering if they dont lead into the show with a 2 week marathon and then only aired it once a day on each station if it would create a backlash.
Anything is better than nothing, but I would like to hear more than 1 a week if possible.
Also, I wonder if they had done what was rumored whenthey first started the show if it would have been recieved better. I seem to remember the rumor that the marathon they did was originally supposed to be the Year End shows running back to back. Wasn't this the rumor going around?

It really wouldn't bother me if XM Radio decides not to bring back American Top 40 on their network. And besides, I have enough shows in my collection to listen to in my collection anyway, so I really don't need to XM to bring back American Top 40.

yeah I can see I guess how that schedule might get old. I wish they would create a radio show station and run many different shows on there if they could find them and purchase the rights to use them.

I'm an XM Subscriber and have been for close to 2 years now. Have it in my car and in the home. Sure,it would be nice to see AT40 make a return to XM,but I'm a serious collector of CD-R shows from the 70's and 80's and if it doesn't return,I still have all of the old shows to relisten to. And there are enough traders out there that anybody searching for shows need only to check with the people on this message board. That being said,at least the rebroadcast of those shows will add alot of songs that never get regular airplay within the "Decades" channels. Those songs that peaked at #40 or #39--it'll be nice to hear those songs getting airplay again. AT40 returning to XM? I'd like to see it become a reality.

I sent a message to XM80s on 8 requesting AT40 and received a message back from Kandi that they are working on it. So they have apparently not forgotten about their promise.

I've cancelled my sub, I am tired of waiting. Plus, I think I stated this before, I didnt have it in my car and cant afford it right now and I have Directv so I technically had XM in the same location, just one I was paying for.

Just thought I would mention next week we enter the Christmas/New Years time block which was the next alleged time frame for AT40 to be re-appearing on XM. Still nothing.

I wrote them and am awaiting an answer. As soon as I hear, I will post it here. The last message that I got was that "we are still working on it" from Kandy on 80s on 8. Most likely, they will start the show around an upcoming holiday if they are still planning to do so.

I'll believe it when I see it.

I agree with you there, Paul. They have been making hints and have gotten everyone's hopes up only to end up not coming through. Probably John Zellner's fault-he's the one who's in charge of programming there. I've also heard that a lot of people who hate DJs have complained and that's why they are a bit hesitant to put AT40 on. One thing I can conclude is that Bruce Kelley is obviously not at fault since he's no longer there.
Probably the best way to get the show on faster would be for all of us who want it to let them know and keep bugging them. Get everyone you know who may want it and get them to email Zellner, 80s on 8, 70s on 7, etc. as much as possible.
