Maybe if we got together and pitched in enough money, they'd sell us the WW1 shows and then they would never again have to see or hear about them again.
Just a thought for better or worse

For the uninitiated... what's a subscription to the service generally run? I've never thought about getting it until I saw this thread.

One of the things I have been thinking about is when XM will actually start broadcasting AT40s again. My conclusion is that they may very well do so the first week in July since that is the 35th anniversary of the beginning of AT40. If they are starting sooner or later that's fine also(although sooner would be better) but that would give them one month to promote the return and they could build a good advertising campaign around that date.
In Bruce's letter to the xm411 site(bookmarked on Alfred's post a few back), he notes that he and Kurt will be announcing this very soon. They haven't done so on XM and the website doesn't mention AT40 coming back and possibly they are waiting for the Memorial Day holiday to pass before doing so.
Just My Thoughts, What are yours?

Hey Liberaljag:
Go to xmradio.com and they will tell you how to establish service and the exact price. I subscribed just before XM broadcast AT40s a few years ago and the monthly fee has been between $12-$16 per month but I have more than one, so the fee may be lower if you only have one. They are offering free online listening if you subscribe at least one xm radio.

www.xmfan.com/viewtopic.php?t=43572Bruce Kelly has posted again on the forum giving more details on AT40 on XM7 (70s) and XM8 (80s). They have apparently worked things out with Billboard and the shows will begin around Labor Day.

No Shadoe shows will be run, so I guess any hope of AT40 90's is out. Makes me wonder if Premiere even has copies of the Shadoe shows still around at all.

Since Premiere allows the sale of Shadoe shows on ebay, it make me wonder if they own all the rights to Shadoe's shows. By not airing Shadoe shows, they're missing out over 10% of the 80s.

My guess is that those are in the same closet with the CT40 shows that they supposedly acquired the rights to. Now, all we've got to do is find that closet, sneak in late at night... j/k

No disrespect meant to you fans of the Shadoe Stevens era,but I'm glad that the upcoming AT40 broadcasts on XM are sticking with the Casey version of the shows. While I do have some of the Shadoe shows on CD-R,I completly lost interest in the show once it dropped the "Hot 100"(No need for us to debate the issue again,I've heard it all and I've beaten that dead horse more times than I care to think about). Shadoe's open-ad to Billboard about "serving the needs of their customers" was one of the biggest crocks I can remember!(Look Rob Durkee's book up for additional details here). Anyways,I spend more time with the 70's Channel on XM anyways,so its gonna be great to hear that stuff even though I do have a good chunk of the 70's era shows on CD-R anyways!

The Hot 100 was used until 1991, the 80's channel plays up to 1990. By not airing Shadoe shows, they lose a 16-17 months of shows AND the music played on them. That's why I wish they were played.

The Best thing about XM airing the old AT40 shows is that alot of songs you don't ever hear will finally get some airplay, and that includes alot of those songs that charted between #'s 20-40. To those of us that followed the charts week to week in the 70's & 80's,we know when we're hearing a song that is pretty much ignored in this day and age. Ahh,the Beauty of Satellite radio!

That may be the reason that I buy XM radio. Can't you buy a boom box that carries that? I'm just looking for clarification on that. Thanks!
