It seems like every time I heard it during its run, This Time I'm In It For Love was just slaughtered, including this week's 1978 show. Even though the Player single edit ran only 3:25, I guess this is an indication of just how squeezed for time the AT40 staff was pre 4hr expansion. Right on queue, Player was destroyed on the Mark Elliott show. Call it the Meatloaf effect, but the entire last hour was massacred. This show is in desperate need of Supersizing one day. They even had to squeeze Night Fever including intro and outro down to 2:40.

Holy bleep! Premiere slaughtered the Misty extra down to 1:40! Why even bother to have an extra?

"The Way It Is" by Bruce Hornsby got the axe the majority of times it was played. So did "Move Away" by Culture Club. So did "The Edge of Heaven" by Wham. I'm thinking each of those songs were only played in full once or twice during their time in the 40. Ditto on Move Away; the song on the 5/17/1986 show came in at 2:50; about 45 seconds of the song was edited out starting at the instrumental break.

Two butcher shop favorites from this past weekend; Elt's Jeannie and Eric Carmen's Never Gonna Fall In Love Again

This week's 1977 is another show in dire need of Supersizing! They chopped :45 off of the guys Back Together Again. I Just Want To Be Your Everything was just 2 minutes, pretty much sliced in half.

Not to mention, once again, the 2nd verse of "Undercover Angel". "Now you know my story...", uh, sorry, Alan, no we don't, 'cause we didn't get to hear the verse that explains it!

A 4 hour butcher as the 6/16/84 show trimmed a minute off of Elt's Sad Songs. No top three recap, no #1 hits of the prior decade filler, it's hard to believe they were already that pressed for time again.

Holy bleep, I hope the guys got the name of the person with the razor blade and are reporting him... It's A Laugh was sliced down to 2:30? Why?? This 1978 show had so much filler, they really need to cut a minute from H&Os single?

One of the most absurd edits IMO is "I'd Really Love To See You Tonight." The song is less than 3 minutes to begin with, but in some of the episodes a verse was cut.

On today's SXM 1974 Countdown, Do It Baby by the Miracles was cut off way too early.

I hope BeeGees got the name of the person w/the razor blade because on this week's 1976 show Fanny was hacked!

Maybe it was how the single was edited, but the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" sounds horribly choppy in countdown shows. I know we can't expect to hear the full album version, but....
