The first show of today's WGHN AT40 marathon is the "Top 40 Acts of the 1980s - so far" special, from July 2, 1983.
I have a feeling that they're going to all be holiday weekend specials, and that one of them (possibly the last) will be the Giants of Rock & Roll special). I'll venture a guess that the other one is the Triathlon special, from 1988. All of the above shows were heard on the series this year.
UPDATE: As predicted, the Triathlon show is indeed the next one in line, meaning that the Giants of Rock & Roll special is the one that will cap off the marathon.
EDIT: I take that back - the final show of the marathon is actually this weekend's 1984 show.

TOP 40 NEWCOMERS OF THE 1980S (So Far) just started on Hits 100 Aruba. ic2262.c1092.fast-serv.com/streamKXGL (7 pm) & WTKU (8 pm) should have show this evening. Both stations aired "#1 Hits of the 1970s" Part 6 earlier today. Update: WTKU went with "B" show from 8/25/84 & aired the Special the next night. WTIC aired the 3-hr version of Special.

What about the #1 Songs of the 1970s, Part 6?
Someone posted on the 70s thread that WHPY in Nashville should be airing the show at 1pm (Eastern) today, based on their history of airing the past three parts on the holiday, but I was wondering about other stations just in case Hippie Radio doesn't play that one.
Thanks in advance.

WQMV (9 am) & WKYW (10 am) are airing 3-hr version of Pt 6. KARY went with 80's. It sounds as though Hippie Radio is going to be repeating Part 5 of the #1's of the 70s (all of the announcements mentioned Part 5, and the radio DJ said that it was going to run up to August, 1978). But that's not so bad, as I actually prefer that version (I had forgotten how much I disliked many of the #1 songs during 1979), especially the second half. Besides, back on July 4, I joined the show in the middle. Perhaps around the holiday period, Hippie Radio will get to Part 6 (as the DJ said, in passing, that they'll eventually get around to running the entire series).

^WPAC is currently in hour 2 of Newcomers of '80's. WPAC tends to air AT40 marathons. So it should be interesting what is playing at 2 pm.
