Thanks, Rodney, I am grateful to WBME for the chance to air the shows but am glad I found a way to have the shows be available 'on demand' , as well. The show on WBME this week will be part 1 of the Top 100 pop singles of 1973. As most of us know, AT40 only did the Top 40 of 1973--so this should allow us to hear more of the big hits of that year (although from the Cash Box year end chart--not Billboard, of course). Here is the WBME schedule: wbmeprograms.proboards.com/thread/408/schedule-week-11-7-16?page=1&scrollTo=2925Speaking of on demand, the newest 'on demand' show is from the Cash Box chart for the week ending August 5, 1967. archive.org/details/011967080501Enjoy, Joe

This week's Cash Box Countdown, on WBME, was the first weekly countdown I ever recorded (almost two years ago) for a friend that is a Beatles fan. It features all 4 ex-Beatles in the Top 40; and it is dated the week ending December 7, 1974. The show will be broadcast at 8 am and 9 pm on Monday, December 5. wbme.radiostream123.com/The latest 'on demand' show is a countdown features a song from the TV show Sesame Street and the only #1 for a group from California that never had a #1 on Billboard. The chart is from October 3, 1970. archive.org/details/011970100301 Enjoy,
Joe

Playing catch-up in a big way - listening to the 8/28/1976 show now. Kicking it off was "Sophisticated Lady" by Natalie Cole, which reminds me of the Beatles' "Come Together". I really enjoy your countdown shows, djjoe1960 - especially those from the latter half of the 1970s. Thanks for sharing them!

I don't see the connection between 'Come Together' and 'Sophisticated Lady'--is the beat similar? Joe

^It's in the verses - at least to me, they seem to have a similar flow/rhythm, for lack of better words. Outside of the verses, there's no similarities.
