Hey, For anyone that is interested you can listen to a countdown of the Top 100 of 1979 based on the Cash Box Magazine charts by listening to WBME. The next replay of the bottom half of the chart (100-51) comes Saturday at 7 pm (Eastern time) or Sunday at 11 am (Eastern time). This gives you a chance to hear 100 of the biggest hits of 1979; while AT40 only did Billboard's Top 50 of that year (due to the other special they ran featuring the Top 50 of the 1970's). The year end chart included all the Top 10 hits of 1979 from Cash Box's weekly pop charts--making it more timely, IMO, than Billboard's year end chart. The year end chart included all the Top 10 hits of 1979 from Cash Box's weekly pop charts--making it more timely, IMO, than Billboard's year end chart. Looking forward to hearing more of your shows... Thanks, Rodney. Next week's show should be really interesting--it's a show from the 1960's; a decade of really diverse music. Although may of us know most of the Top 10 hits from the decade, most of the songs from lower down the chart don't get much airplay these days; and that is one of the reasons I want to do more shows featuring the 1960's. Keep on eye on the schedule to see when they run. |

This week is part 1 of the Top 100 of 1971 from the Cash Box year end chart. This is a year that AT40 only played the Top 40 from Billboard's year end chart. Listen to #100-51 this week. Countdown airs at 9 am and 9 pm on Monday, August 9th. Also replays at 7:30 pm Saturday (August 13) or 11 am Sunday (August 14). Just wanted to say a big 'THANK YOU' to all of you that are listening to the shows. Your comments are certainly appreciated and it makes all the hours of work on these countdowns worth it. I am working on more shows from the 1960's through the 1980's--many of them featuring #1's hits that reached the top spot on Cash Box and not on Billboard.
