The Countdown to be aired on Monday, October 9th, at 9 am or 9 pm, is from October 14,1967. It features a number one that did not reach the top spot in Billboard and the song at #31 is by a one hit wonder out of Memphis. The show also airs Sunday, October 16th (Sunday) at 8 am on WBME. Enjoy, Joe wbme.radiostream123.com/Uh-oh, Apparently there is a problem with the show from October 14, 1967--so you will hear part 1 of the year end 1975 chart. 44 singles made it to #1 on the Cash Box charts in 1975 and they are all on the year end chart, in addition the last 5 #1's from 1974.

Here is an update on the show that was postponed--it is now available at: archive.org/details/011967101401You can stream or download the countdown from the week of October 14, 1967. All the extras (bonus songs) were left off of this version of the show, so it runs just a little over two hours. However it does feature the Top 40 pop singles from the Cash Box charts.

Thanks for posting this, Joe. I started listening to music on the radio daily in Oct/Nov 1967, so this countdown is really bringing back some old memories. The quality of the show is great.

Joe Cantello Hey, Joe - thanks for making the 1975 countdown available "on demand". Since I'm hardly around on weekends and I can only stream WBME on my phone (it won't work on either of my computers - I've tried a few options but to no avail), it's nice to have another option. Love the countdowns, BTW - very enjoyable listen. Thank you!

Thank you for listening. I consider 1974 & 75 the 'fluid' years with lots of #1's and the charts moving almost as fast as the charts did in the 1960's; that being said, it is interesting to see that even though Billboard had 35 #1's those two years--Cash Box had over 40 #1's. Even though the magazines used different criteria to compile their charts at the time (Cash Box didn't incorporate radio airplay into their Top 100 chart until 1977/78)--there are some pretty big differences when you look at some of the weekly charts.
Again a big 'thank you' to everyone that is listening--as it's fun to listen to some of the biggest 'hits' of the rock era one more time.

You can also stream with Rarmaradio or other recording software to listen later by visiting the link on the wbmeproboards. programs message board under General Information. The port is there to directly input the stream. Hope this helps you get the station running on your computers.

Adam--one other way I have mentioned in the past is to use Firefox as your browser. They are definitely WBME friendly--unlike Chrome.

Unfortunately, in this case, I have a Mac (like Rodney ), and I've tried several avenues to get the audio to work. Nothing has. I've got both Safari and Firefox as browsers (just updated Firefox too), have paid for and tried Flip4Mac (which I've got the latest version), and VLC earlier this year that doesn't work. I'll have to be content streaming on my phone - works great on there. I've read the WBME forums too, which is a great read, but unfortunately doesn't solve my problem.

I play WBME on my iPad and stream it from the iPad to my Mac where I can record shows if I like. I stream it with a program called "Air Server". I researched types of programs that did this type of stream. There were two... airsquirrels.com and airserver.com . I bought Air Squirrels first but it didn't have a very good stream... kinda skippy.... I then bought air server and it's been awesome. They both had good reviews and I think both were $14.99. I've been using air server since April I believe and it's worked wonderful. It's nice having WBME played on my Mac speakers. At first it bothered me having to tie up my iPad, but I've gotten completely used to it. On a side note, I'm spending my Friday night fooling around on the computer and listening to the "50 Years of #1's" show with Jeff Michaels and others. "Between the Moon and New York City." is currently playing... great song...

Thanks, Rodney - I think you mentioned it in another thread (though I didn't remember it when I posted). If only I could find something that works on my two Mac computers, where I wouldn't have to tie up an additional device (which in my case, would be my phone, which I'd hate in the event of recording and I get a call or text), and I don't own an iPad or tablet of any kind. Maybe when I do, that would be a nice option to have. Thanks for sharing. But, as disappointing as this may be, I still wouldn't trade my Macs for anything Windows.

I agree with ya on the Mac... debated a long time on whether I should get one... finally did, and I COMPLETELY love it.
