7-10-21 will likely be 1966 or 1969. The 4th of July weekend will be the Top 600 of the 60's.

Going back to the "pre-Casey" special from this past weekend...
I got the inside scoop from Ranking the '70s co-author Bill Carroll. To come up with the rankings for this show, he rebooted the whole thing using Billboard's numbers rather than Cash Box's. The Survey, like all in-house countdowns on SiriusXM, is always based on BB, so the powers that be wanted more uniformity. I updated my list accordingly. Hoping it makes more sense now.

The Top 60 " feel good " songs of the 60s is available on demand, at the moment ( of course for US listeners only ). According to the facebook page, this show was aired on May 1, 2021 . But that weekend, the official show aired was May 05, 1962. does it means there were two shows that weekend ?
Anybody has a playlist of this special ?

Great show today from Dave! 1966 was featured and the chart date (of course putting in a plug for Billboard), was 7-16-66. Next week was announced to be "The Summer of Love." This will be of course 1967, and it will likely be 7-22-67 as that is the first week in months that there are no Turtle songs on the Top 40.

I really wish that Dave would wait a week or two to play a countdown from 1967. If he plays the 7-22-67 countdown, that will be the third, maybe fourth year in a row for that particular countdown. I personally wish he would hold off and play the countdown from 8-5-67. That week two great lost hits debut on the Hot 100 that would make, IMHO, great staff pick extras---"Run, Run, Run" by the Third Rail, and "It Could Be We're In Love" by The Cryan' Shames.

That is the "Turtles curse" slf. The same thing happened several months ago when You Showed Me How dropped off the Top 40 and Dave featured 1969 at the first opportunity, and a repeat episode of a few years in a row in that instance. Deja Vu with the Turtles this time a 1967 repeat. The two songs affected were Happy Together and She'd Rather Be With Me, the latter spending its last week in the Top 40 7-15-67. The Turtles were in the Top 40 since late Winter 1967.
I would rather he did 1969 this weekend, and then 1967 the following week.

We had a good run of 1960 - 1967 (in order, with a few 'specials' sprinkled in.) Now we go back to 1960? That's cool, but leaves 1968-1969 unplayed for a long period. (Is that because of the Turtles ban, STILL?)
