Thank you doofus67.
Why do they repeat - even 6 years after - the same theme ? the good point is that the chart is different from the one of 2014.

Hey, doofus67, I was listening to last Saturday's Satellite Survey counting down the Top 40 #2 songs while, at the same time, following along with MY copy of Ranking The 60's. And, wouldn't you know it, I noticed a #2 song that should have been included (even in the Top 10) but was left out. That song was "Wipeout" by the Surfaris. It should have been #9 on this countdown. (It ranked #138 among all songs for that decade.) Now one reason it may have been deliberately omitted is that the song had two chart runs (the main one in '63 and a minor one in '66). And maybe Lou and the gang decided to consider only the initial chart run. But I still believe both chart runs should have counted and "Wipeout" given its well-earned place on this special countdown.

The same thought ran through my mind as well. You actually answered your own question, slf. Only the initial chart run of "Wipe Out" counted. And it looks as though Bill Carroll considered only the first run of "Louie Louie" as well. In that case, its ranking wasn't affected.

I am hoping for 1968 today, 11-14, as that is the year furthest back that hasn't been played.
