3/24/79 and this one has an interesting set of sisters. Got Heart with the TWO Wilson sisters, got the THREE Pointer Sisters and the FOUR in Sister Sledge. BTW, the Heart song is an underrated title track called "Dog and Butterfly".
How ironic and somber is that? Casey identified a station in Perth, Australia. Just heard while listening to this show about the demise of Malaysian flight 370 and the closest place on land to where it allegedly went down is Perth. When you look at a map and see how far away from its takeoff point it was when it went down, it sends chills down your spine.

Two shows from this day in AT40 history: This morning was 3/26/83, and this afternoon was 3/26/77. Two fantastic countdowns.

Today, I listened to the 3/27/93 show.
BTW, Sting's "If I Ever Lose My Faith" seemed to have repeat the same verse at least three times. What was up with that?

AT40? It's possible. Wait until you hear some of the shows with "The Sign" at #1. IIRC, some with "Two Princes" were pretty ridiculous too.

AT40 must really have been falling apart at the seams by 1993. Shadoe wasn't even allowed to do an intro to some songs. Weird anomalies like the Sting song. I think I've heard a show with "The Sign" at #1, now that you mention it, and do recall something odd. I'll have to revisit it sometime.

7/1/1978, the Top 40 Acts of the 70's ~ twice! Once in the morning, and again here in the afternoon.

Today I have listened to:
3/23/74 3/24/84 Casey's Top 40 3/26/94
And now am starting though will not finish today: American Top 40 3/26/94
On AT40s 3/26/94 show decided for whatever reason to play last weeks #1 to start the show. So that led to the rare occurrence of getting to hear a song, in this case"The Sign"; twice in a row.

To provide some contrast to the shows we love and enjoy, I'll mention that I listened to the 6/12/93 Dees show today. Rick skipped over three consecutive songs...at the beginning of the countdown! #40 (Don't Walk Away), #39 (Dre Day), and #38 (Three Little Pigs) got only a verbal mention. Instead, the first segment consisted of the Sure Shot (REM's The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite, which missed the pop chart completely), the #1 song from one year earlier (Under The Bridge), and a "listener request" (The Proclaimers' I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles), which was a month away from debuting). Now, on with the (real) countdown...

I'm listening to a HEAVILY edited 3/28/87 countdown. d**n shame, too, since I love many songs on that countdown, many of them the not-so-biggest hits, including "The Honeythief" by Hipsway and REO's "That Ain't Love".

Today I finished AT40 from 3/26/94, listened to AT20 HAC 3/20/04 and for no real reason am now listening to the Weekly Top 40 from 3/17/90.

You mean 72, right? Clark didn't guest host in 71.

The show from this date in 1990 is playing right now.
BTW, my favorite song then was "No Myth" by Michael Penn, who happens to compose the music for HBO's hit series, "Girls", which I watch.
I took a "Which 'Girls' character are you?" quiz, and the answer shocked me: I am a Hannah Horvath! I thought I'd be a Marnie.
